A Honda dealer told me that the slight whine noise we sometimes heard meant that the transmission was shot, this diagnosis was made after a quick trip around the block and not even putting the car on a lift. He offered a salvaged trans with no warranty for $3000, more than the car is worth! Anthony of AAMCO Wilmington did a thorough inspection of the car and transmission and said the noise was nothing more than some gear noise that was common in Hondas with high mileage. No repair was necessary. He wouldn't even do a trans fluid change because he said it was unneeded. I was very impressed with his honesty and professionalism. I would recommend AAMCO of Wilmington without hesitation.
