I chose the Amberlin because it is close to my family who I usually spend my weekends with therefore I’m not able to comment on that time. Calling it a “55+ active community” isn’t a good description to me as there seem to be many here who are not able to be active. It seems to me that more activities are geared to the inactive rather than the active. I enjoy living here and am planning on staying at this time.Dee Gauche

I work and arrive home near 5p or after. I no longer feel valued, accepted, heard, respected, and have limited options. Most activities are during the day and end by the time I arrive home. Sometimes I need to speak to a manager and that isn't always permissible because he/she isn't available, or is out of the office. Inconsistency and not enough communication about the changes, and expectations of us are dissappointing. Staff doors are closed and needs aren't met. In the beginning this wasn't happening. There were no surprises because of emails and face to face communication.

A basic orientation at the beginning of residency would help with the transition to apartment living in Amberlin Georgetown. Each complex has its own procedures and electronic uniqueness. Getting acquainted with the specific methods would help diminish the feeling of deer in the headlights. Even an electronic presentation of methods and procedures would be a benefit. Thanks for asking.

I may move if my rent is increased. The water/sewer expense of $75.00 which is not figured on an actual cost for one person to is high. I also see a lot of apartments that are not rented.

Other 55+ communities offer spacious apartments for lower rent. The air conditioning in the card room hasn’t worked in months. Your events are always the same. Always have the same food at the brunches. There is no variation in anything.

Our maintenance crew is always professional, helpful and friendly. I couldn’t ask for a better crew than what we have here

I am planning on renewing my stay at Amberlin Georgetown. I love it here. I like the activities that you plan over each month even though I cannot make all of them .Also I like having our renters able to organize small group activities. We did that at Sun City also.I especially like having a maintenance man team to help fix things that we single older women cannot do or know how to do —Climbing ladders especially. They are wonderful people and we are so fortunate to have them . They are very trust worthy. Our pool and Patio central area is exceptional .Thank you staff for helping in all ways - always with a smile. One suggestion: in case of some emergency where we had to evacuate, is there a List of people and their room numbers who cannot do stairs alone and need personal help such as for a fire or smoke etc.Would the fire Dept or Police have a list? A list in the office would not help if after hours or on a Sunday event. Some people I would imagine do not have a friend who would be available and able to help them - or new people who have not met anyone yet. I am sure you probably have or could have thought about that. No electricity, no elevators. (A home is usually one story and easier to get in or out)(Maybe a way to have a mark of some sort on their door?)Nancy Watson.

As with everything I have requested help with, Peter and Tyler respond quickly and get the problem solved.

I wish shower grab bars were already installed in each apt’s shower. Or, next best thing, would be that the charge of $350.00 for Amberlin GT to install them, would be less prohibitive.
