Where to start? I bought a 2024 BMW 335i last Friday. First of all im stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky and had a 4.5 hour drive to the dealership. Upon arrival I was greeted by my salesperson Saban. The first thing he tells me about is the glove box being broken on the car. No where in the days leading up to my trip down or even during the trip was I told about this. So they told me BMW would cover it. However, after calling two BMW dealerships I was told there was a chance they woukdnt. Then as I take the car for a test drive I realize there was no back-up camera. However, it was advertised as having one. I asked to speak to a manager and was given Hobbi. He agreed to take $500 off the price. Post negotiations I am shuffled to finance where I talk to Ray. During the process the contract and required paperwork had to be redone countless times because the numbers weren't adding up. Additionally, he would tell me one thing but it wouldn't be reflected in the contract or various documents I had to sign. He would then apologize and pull out another sheet for me to sign that looked identical to the first one minus one or two words in the contract that completely redefined the meaning of it. Example, gap insurance has two forms one that says 120% and another that said 150%. He attempted to make me sign the one that said 120% even though I was told I was buying the 150%. This happened multiple times through the whole process with other forms. Suspect to say the least. Then there was the extended warranty that was claimed to be good all over the US st any dealership. That was false. Even when I further inquired he either purposely played ignorant or was seriously ignorant to what exactly he was selling. The extended warranty is not taken everywhere, only st authorized service centers. Finally on the way home my check engine light comes on and i had a transmission malfunction message pop up. I made it home parked the car, took a picture and sent it to Saban(my salesperson). His response was "The Bmw is under factory warranty. Please take it to the closest Bmw store and they will be able to help you. Please keep me updated have a great weekend". Two problems stem from this. First is, the ink hasn't even dried on the contract and you're passing the buck and telling the customer to kick rocks. Second, if all vehicles have an inspection done in them, why wasn't this picked up? Finally i had had it and called to speak to the general manager, Tony Russo. He was the only saving grace in all of this. He immediately apologized, the first and only appology I had received through this whole ordeal and helped me straighten out my contract and revert back to my own financing since the paperwork was so horrible misrepresented to me. Am I happy? No. Countless hours of my life was wasted on purchasing a misrepresented vehicle along with a whole day spent at the BMW dealership the following day to get my car running again. Oh, and by the way, I'm spending another day there this weekend for the trunk latch and glove box that wasn't working properly when sold to me. Again, Tony Russo was great but everyone up until then came off just like the stereotypical used cars man. Sleezy or at least deceptive. What I find most ironic about this is that from the start I was told Jim Ellis was an ethical business. I have to strongly disagree. With the exception of the general manager Tony Russo who I truly felt was empathetic to my case and tried to make it right.
