Staff appreciation at Avalon is non-existent. It seems as if your worst day of work what people consider to be your best. It’s as if you’re unable to just act like a human. While we have a few staff members that are pleasant, much of the staff is rude to others. Teamwork is not a thing in this building. Higher ups don’t do anything to help. You’d think a manager is supposed to come in to help when staffing is short but that does not happen, except Chris in the kitchen. He is hands down the best manager in the building. Higher-ups talk to the staff as though they are children and we do not deserve that. To get respect, you have to give it, and they do not give it. In every meeting we have had, you say your staff is just as important as the residents. And I fully believe that to give the best care to our residents, the staff has to be taken care of too, but your staff at Avalon is not taken care of. There’s just no appreciation and no sympathy for anyone.Some of the questions on this survey that I answered were a bit tricky to answer. I want you think of my answers as someone who is happy with the position they are in and not looking to go into further schooling but are still looking to further themselves within the building and feels as if they are not appreciated and neither are their peers.
