The building is not a luxury apartment. The level of noise, both in terms of what I can hear from my upstairs neighbor and the amount of screaming and noise that goes out in common areas, is not okay. The number of people who smoke marijuana or vape in common areas is not okay. The number of dog owners who use the parking garage as a bathroom for their dog and then leave the mess. There is not okay.If you updated your advertising strategy to say something like family style, living and downplay the luxury aspect of it, you'd probably be fine. It's an okay working class property, but to pretend that it's luxury is absolutely delusional. The office staff are too combative are not solutions oriented and really don't do anything to make the quality of life at the place. Better to justify a luxury designation. It is wild to think that significantly better properties in San Diego with similar square footage are going for the same price and there are buildings that have wildly better reviews. It does not surprise me that you guys have the vacancy rates you have

Love living at Bowen. Great location and very friendly staff that hold frequent community events. The amenities are top notch and very well maintained.

For a luxury apartment, the build is very cheap. I can hear every single time my upstairs neighbor walks, closes any door, or makes a movement. Staff is great. Gym is starting to look a little worn

The building is very loud. You hear everything from upstairs neighbors due to poor design. People regularly smoke weed, drink, or have dogs off leash in common areas. Packages are often delivered to the other building and it takes a long time to receive them when this happens. Security won't check to confirm that the pool is empty when common areas close. You will smell the grill and smoke when it is being used.It isn't a luxury apartment - it is a mid-tier apartment with a good number of problems. I do not expect to renew our lease.

I was enjoying my apartment until recently. The neighbor upstairs sounds like he is stomping when he walks. I understand this is part of apartment living, but I can hear him every single time he walks across his apartment and opens his closet door. He will pace around the apartment in the middle of the night and wake me up. I complained to the property management 3 times and I don’t think they actually sent him a message to stop. I finally couldn’t take it anymore and went up to ask him to walk lighter or wear slippers. He said he will try. I noticed it’s a bit better. I don’t think the property management askedhim directly, but only sent mass emails. Seems like a build quality issue, as I can hear him open his closet as well.

I decided to move out because of ongoing noise, cleanliness, and management issues that were never properly addressed. The walls and floors were so thin I could hear my upstairs neighbors’ entire schedule — it often sounded like constant stomping, but management refused to intervene because it wasn’t “during quiet hours.” Their only suggestion was to call a patrolling security line that never actually resolves anything. The property’s upkeep was unacceptable. I frequently saw dog waste in hallways and stairwells, roaches in common areas, and homeless individuals sleeping in the courtyard. Cars also speed through the garage, making it unsafe for residents. What made this experience worse was the poor management and clear favoritism shown toward certain residents. I experienced delays with my own package access codes while staff casually decorated other residents’ packages with hearts and smiley faces — completely unprofessional behavior. The only reason any positive changes happened (like the increased cleaning schedule or garage mirrors) was because I personally escalated the situation to upper management and CC’d the company’s VP team.It shouldn’t take that level of escalation just to get basic property standards met. I’m relieved I was able to end my lease early, because the management’s priorities and professionalism were unacceptable.
