My complaint actually relates to all the options above but I chose customer service as the broadest term. In short, my entire experience of buying my most recent car has been horrendous. I bought a Peugeot 5008 from John Paul Coogan in September 2025. Within days I had discovered that it did not have sat nav and my phone would not connect via Bluetooth or a lead to Android Auto. I was told it should work. I also noticed a "clunking" sound when the car was in full lock. These issues were reported along with a few dents in the car and since then I have had to have the car with peugeot multiple times to try and get it fixed and the nav working. I said at the very outset I thought it might need a specific lead and I bought several data cables that didn't work. Everyone at Peugeot told me it should work. When it still didn't work and was still clunking in December it was booked in yet again and the first time it could be seen was April! At that time only the clunk was partially fixed (after several days without the car) and the nav remained a mystery. It was then booked in again for May and at this stage the car was kept for over two weeks despite us receiving a message that it was only in fact looked at for the first time after 11 days sitting in the garage! And in the end all that was needed was a lead from asda!! And the only reason I found that out was that a technician had to buy the same lead!! Oh and the clunk STILL wasn't fixed so it went back in today and is allegedly now fixed!! In the meantime I went back to used direct to look at a different car as by this stage I was totally fed up. I eventually spoke to a manager who told me that to trade my car in for another it would be worth £4000-£4500 less than I paid for it because I'd had it for "nearly a year"!! This is despite the fact that 4 months of that was taken up with how long I had to wait for it to be looked at and I had only owned it 3 months at that stage!!! Oh and he admitted that whilst the team are supposed to give used cars a thorough check in fact they are so busy they often don't!! So I was sold a dud and I have had to pay for it in loss of value, incredible stress, not having a nav system for months and relentless phone calls, visits to Peugeot and inconvenience. And no-one has offered be any form of meaningful apology or compensation for what you have put me through. It is highly unprofessional, misleading and disgraceful and I am disgusted. I would very much like to hear from someone who has something worthwhile to say about my experience.

Terrible put £250 hold on a car that im no longer interested in. Was constantly tortured when I was interested. Not that im not getting no reply about getting the money refunded. Disgusting behaviour.

Had an appointment with stelios at 1pm today to buy the C4. Took a day off work to buy the car yet when I arrived he has sold it?I respect that a sales a sale but surely I should have been notified so I didn’t waste my day coming up to sheer disappointment? Just to try sell me a more expensive car? I’m appalled at how stelios treated me.

Hi,I would rather not say how you have done until we actually receive the vehicle. So far it definitely is not looking good at all ref positive feedback.Kind regardsIan Weir

Car was a mess and needed paint repairs and was not clean. Sales guy very pushy and not taking no for an answer

My wife and I had a pleasant experience upgrading to a more recent Jazz.Kevin was the sales rep. and he simplified the procedure in a caring, professional manner.

The sales exec, Keith Martin, was very helpful and friendly and helped us with everything we needed. He wasn't pushy with anything they have to sell to you, just informative. They were fair with my trade in price. A very good experience all round. Thanks, Keith.

Will Allen was a very helpful knowledgeable salesman, he listened to what I wanted and got me the car the suited my needs perfectly. When an issue arose (not anything to do with what Will had done) he got it sorted out very quickly and I am happily driving my new car!

As a customer of Charles Hurst since 2016 i have purchased a number of cars which I have imported to ROI my experience this time like the rest have all been very good this time I dealt with Blaine and although he was not available on the day I collected the car he arranged with Shannon to look after us when we arrived. the service I received from both staff and the sales manager on the day was excellent and i can see continuing to do business with Charles Hurst in the futureRegardsMatyin Kelly

Dear Mario and the Charles Hurst Management Team,I am writing to formally object to the updated Vehicle Order Agreement (VOA) issued to me on 28/05/2026.I have noticed that the basic price of the Volkswagen Taigo (Reg: AMZ3165) has been increased from the originally agreed £14,000.00 (as shown in "old care price.pdf" dated 19/05/2026) to £14,420.00 in the new document "increased price care.pdf".This £420.00 increase was applied directly after I exercised my right to cancel the optional add-on packages. Penalising a customer by inflating the core price of a vehicle simply because they refuse optional insurance or warranty products is unacceptable.Furthermore, your actions are completely unfair given the history of this transaction. My previous car, a Skoda Fabia (Reg: IGZ9124), was brought to your dealership for multiple checks, yet service was ultimately denied. This unresolved situation forced me into a position where I had to change the vehicle entirely, losing money in the process as the valuation depreciated from £6,999.00 down to £6,249.66. Despite that unfair loss, I accepted the lower part-exchange allowance in good faith to move forward. For the dealership to now artificially inflate the price of the new car on top of that is entirely unreasonable. Please note the following legal and contractual points regarding this matter:• Breach of Terms: Clause 1.2 of your own Lookers Standard Terms and Conditions explicitly states that the Company reserves the right to increase the price only if an increase is imposed on the Company by a manufacturer or supplier. It does not state you can alter the base vehicle price because a consumer declines add-ons.• UK Consumer Protection Regulations: Under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, altering a previously agreed-upon price as a condition for refusing optional extras can be deemed a misleading and unfair commercial practice.I have already paid my £538.00 balance due, and I am fully prepared to proceed with the vehicle purchase. However, I will not sign an agreement that reflects this artificial price hike. Please revert the vehicle's basic price to the originally agreed £14,000.00 and send over the corrected paperwork for signature.I look forward to your swift confirmation that the original price will be honoured. I am now really concerned that I need to buy another car from you.Yours sincerely,Lakshmanakanth Muthusamy 07586 274639
