When the car arrived in Portadown both front alloys were damaged and had to be returned to Belfast for repair, meaning an additional weeks wait with no means of transport

I felt manipulated and poorly treated during my dealings with the dealership for two principal reasons.A. Uncommunicated Price IncreaseBetween my initial visit and my pre-booked return appointment, the advertised price of the vehicle increased by £300. At no point before my return visit, or upon my arrival at the dealership, was I informed that the price had changed. It was only much later, when I was reviewing my own notes while considering my next steps, that I realised the increase had occurred. Had I been made aware of the price change beforehand, I could have made an informed decision as to whether the journey and appointment remained worthwhile. Instead, I attended the dealership believing I was negotiating on the basis of the original price.B. Apparent Competing Purchaser During NegotiationsOn the day of my appointment, I was left with the strong impression that I was being subjected to a staged scenario intended to create urgency by suggesting there was another purchaser interested in the same vehicle.I appreciate that I cannot know with certainty whether this was the case, but the sequence of events appeared highly unusual. The individual I perceived to be the competing purchaser entered the dealership and immediately approached a salesperson asking whether they sold used Corsas. Shortly afterwards, the conversation was moved closer to where my wife and I were seated. The individual then spoke more loudly, describing a vehicle that closely matched the one we were viewing.A key was then taken from the sales desk so the individual could inspect the vehicle, despite having walked directly past it when entering the showroom.During our negotiations, my wife and I stepped outside for a few minutes to discuss our options privately. As I walked past the vehicle, I saw the individual sitting inside it using their phone. When we returned only a short time later, the individual was already seated with another salesperson discussing what appeared to be a finance proposal, despite seemingly having spent no more than around ten minutes considering the vehicle.Taken individually, each of these events may have an innocent explanation. However, when viewed collectively, they created the clear impression that the situation had been orchestrated to encourage me to make a quicker purchasing decision.OutcomeThe combination of the undisclosed £300 price increase and what I perceived to be an attempt to create artificial sales pressure significantly undermined my confidence in the dealership. As a genuine cash purchaser who had taken the time to arrange and attend a return appointment, I expected openness, transparency and straightforward treatment. Instead, I left feeling manipulated rather than valued as a customer. For those reasons, I decided not to proceed with the purchase and instead chose to pursue the acquisition of a vehicle elsewhere, where I hoped to be treated with greater honesty and respect.

Upon taking delivery of my used Mokka at Charles Hurst Vauxhall, Newtonabbey. Both myself and your salesman noted a new small dent in rear passenger side door and paint chipped within dent. Salesman promised to organise a mobile repair to the damage and that I should await contact from repairer. Unfortunately no contact has been made since I took delivery of my otherwise brilliant car. I put my trust in your company to repair the damage within a reasonable time frame.

Good afternoon all,Thank you for your recent correspondence.I wish to formally record a further development in this matter.Today Charles Hurst Vauxhall Newtownabbey advised that I must collect my vehicle or further service/storage charges may be incurred. This places me in an impossible position. The vehicle was presented to Charles Hurst following the failure of the clutch pedal assembly, which is the component that was the subject of recall OHY / R/2015/087.Throughout this process I have acted on the instructions provided by Vauxhall and its authorised repair network. The current position appears to be as follows:• Vauxhall has confirmed that recall OHY was recorded as completed in 2015.• The recalled component has nevertheless failed.• Vauxhall Customer Services instructed me to take the car to Charels Hurst Vauxhall Newtownabbey.• Charles Hurst advised that they could not resolve the matter.• Vauxhall Customer Services subsequently directed me to Ballyrobert Vauxhall.• Ballyrobert Vauxhall has informed me that they do not deal with Chevrolet vehicles.• Charles Hurst is now seeking removal of the vehicle and has indicated that charges may accrue.Accordingly, I require Vauxhall to provide urgent clarification on the following points:1. Which authorised repairer is responsible for inspecting and repairing Chevrolet vehicles where a component subject to a completed safety recall has subsequently failed?2. Which organisation has responsibility for the vehicle while Vauxhall investigates the apparent failure of a recalled component?3. Does Vauxhall expect me to incur storage or service charges arising from a matter that remains unresolved within its own authorised repair network?4. What action is Vauxhall taking to investigate how a component covered by recall OHY failed after the recall had been recorded as completed?I would also respectfully request that Charles Hurst confirm in writing:• The basis upon which any storage or service charges are being considered;• The date from which such charges are alleged to arise; and• Whether those charges will be suspended pending resolution of the recall investigation by Vauxhall. For the avoidance of doubt, I am willing to cooperate fully with any inspection required by Vauxhall. However, I do not consider it reasonable to be passed between different dealerships, one of which has stated it does not support Chevrolet vehicles, while simultaneously being threatened with additional charges.I would be grateful for a coordinated response from Vauxhall and Charles Hurst setting out who is responsible for resolving this matter and how the vehicle is to be managed pending that resolution.I look forward to your urgent response.Yours faithfully,Stuart FallisVRN: FFZ2133VIN: KL1MF4819AC187242

Matthew, the Sales Executive, was both knowledge and listened to me.

Dear Charles Hurst Vauxhall Newtownabbey Team,I am writing to request urgent clarification and assistance regarding my vehicle, registration WM67XRU. I have been advised by my warranty provider that the vehicle should not be driven until the current fault has been fully resolved, as doing so may void my warranty cover.Given this instruction, I need to know whether your dealership is able to provide a courtesy vehicle while my car is off the road and undergoing diagnosis and repair. As the issue is ongoing and the vehicle cannot be safely driven, access to a courtesy vehicle is essential. Please confirm:Whether a courtesy vehicle can be supplied under these circumstances. The process for arranging collection or delivery.Any documentation you require from me or from the warranty provider.I would appreciate a prompt response so that I can make necessary arrangements.Kind regards,David

I would like to make a formal complaint regarding the handling of the recall appointment for my Chevrolet Orlando LO11 ULGYour customer service advised me to book my vehicle into Vauxhall Newtownabbey for an airbag recall. On the morning of my appointment, I called again to confirm that everything was in order and was assured that it was.I travelled from Dungannon to the dealership and arranged for another driver to accompany me, as my vehicle was due to remain there for the entire day. However, when I arrived, I was informed that the dealership could not carry out the recallI was also informed that the dealership had already advised your customer service that they could not carry out this recall few days ago. Despite this, I was never contacted and my appointment was not cancelled. As a result, I made an unnecessary round trip from Dungannon, wasted over two hours, incurred fuel costs for two vehicles, had to arrange another driver, and experienced significant inconvenience.I would appreciate an explanation of how this happened and would like to request appropriate compensation for the unnecessary time, travel costs, and inconvenience caused.

The car and the purchasing transactions went as expected however I am disappointed with the lack of documentation as regards user manuals. I was told they are now only available online but I have been unable to access them.I was given a link but it did not appear to be an official Vauxhall site and on trying it my computer started to have some problems which I had to get fixed. I am reluctant to repeat the process and would much prefer hard copies.RegardsAllan Pierce
