Bob was awesome. Great demeanor, pulled the car we were going to look at back from being a dealer trade and made it happen. Give him a raise

This car was purchased in reaction to the failure of my previous car after over 200,000 miles of service. While I was very pleased with the brand that I had previously owned, my age, my current lifestyle, budget, and family dynamics resulted in my search for a more practical vehicle. I found the market for cars at this period somewhat disjointed, with new cars that included comfort, and the latest technology very limited. The ev revolution is beginning to get traction within the USA. However, on n EV, I was a bit hesitant to fully convert do to not fully understanding the logistics and requirements of drives of 750 miles. I perform this drive from North Central Florida to Indiana approximately 5 to seven times per year. For me a hybrid vehicle made sense. On qualifying for a loan, I was sock how easy and how fast my bank provided me with approval for future money. My credit while not perfect is in the low to mid 800’s . I guess that was helpful. Due to timing of my purchase my “preferred “ car was not available. This car would have been slightly more than the car I purchased. I purchased the car using the same method that I used during my last purchase. I joined a car web crawler, identified potential cars, and permitted myself to accept calls from dealers. In my initial discussion I was clear that I desired the out the door price (OTD) for the car, concurrently, I was clear of my car buying desire; that my credit was complete, that I had a letter from my bank (Big Bank) in hand, and that I was 95% sure that I was going to purchase a car I identified. I saved 21 potential vehicles over a 200 mile range from Tampa. Most were CRV Hybrids or the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid. I found that leather trim packages were sparse, and in general prices were up for these models likely do to consumer post COVID demand. Honda are coming out of COVID with the Gen six CRV. I had a few dealers offering to add leather to the 2023 CRV sports. This action to me was akin to putting lipstick on a pig. I understand that seats are a rather simple change out, but it led to confusion regarding the other options I would miss regarding the full touring upgrade. I ended up focusing on a 2022 CRV hybrid. The quality defect rate of the 2021-2022 models were the lowest in the history of the CRV production models. Also, as consumers rapidly are led to EV’s, I could not help but noticing in the 2023 sport models “what’s with the transmission stick?” To me the stick in the car makes zero sense, given that most of the lineup uses a CVT. In addition the leather at the base of the stick seemed like it would be quickly outdated in a couple of years. Also the honeycomb grills in the 2023 CRV looks nice new, but I saw a long panel of a dust magnet that would be impossible to effectively clean over the years. Two of my three final cars were located at Coggin dealerships. I want to add my sincere appreciation to Augustine DeCruz and Dave in Finance at Coggin St. Augustine. While I did not purchase the car they had ( again it’s a supply/demand issue for dealers as well), they met my expectations. Farha Raif and Bob Buntonprovided similar service , including a video of the car. My three star rating of the experience centers on how financing is done. I got a sense that today there is minimal effort to save consumers money in the financing of the deal . I understand that it not a BMW , but $40,000 is a lot of money to me, and I would have appreciated more understanding and options surrounding how I could save money. For example I had to perform my own back end calculation of the cost of assuming an 4% Honda finance loan for a new CRV, and dealing with the waiting for the new model to arrive, versus a dealer explains this to me. Again to me this is a supply demand situation. Also at the end of the deal, I did purchase additional service a warranty, plan to simplify my operation by placing a calendar reminder for a service check ‘ oil change every 6 months. Overall score 3.5 stars that I rounded up because you team did attempt to provide good service.
