My sister is in Memory care, and i am very impressed with the level of care, concern for her needs to be met , and plans to make her happy!

I expected better coordination of medical care between Columbia Place and our resident's physician. In addition, I thought there would be more effort from the staff to ensure our resident ate regular meals. It often feels like the facility is not staffed to provide the level of service residents need. I admit that it may be a function of not purchasing a high enough service level, but if that is the case, someone should be making that clear to us.

We miss Peggy who worked here - please get her some more hours. Lucia, Victor, Laura, Christina, Stacy, and Juli are all very helpful. It is a nice place but at times seems a bit short staffed- I am grateful that we chose Columbia Place.

I would recommend a check list with phone numbers for residents and families. Most of us have never gone through this process before. Especially when it comes to the financial piece. It wasn’t explained as to what we were paying for and that we were starting to be charged a room rate when we signed the contract. Even though we were not moving in the resident for 11 days. This would have made me feel more comfortable and confident of what we were doing. There were several things that we were not apprised of on the first day.Two examples was the fact that the first week a resident was there they could have their meals delivered. The dining host that came up was the one that told her. I had to make a call to Juli to verify this. This has been a really hard change for her and this little thing made her feel better. The medication I brought I had to reach out to find out what I do with them before I could leave. We were there for a good 6 hours.Still don’t know about this.Laundry- linen and towels are included in the level 1 and the family is washing the personal laundry. Sheets haven’t been washed yet. Is the resident responsible for stripping the bed?She likes her door locked and says she asks them to lock it. But she says often they don’t.She hasn’t gone to the dining hall yet. So it’s hard to rate dining. She has dinner delivered and says the food is warm when she gets it. She’s rather picky.Fire alarm testing almost caused her a heart attack. I’m glad I was there to settle her down. She didn’t know if she had to get dressed and go outside. She was okay with the alarm the next day. Because she was aware that it was just testing. This is why an at-a-glance checklist would be very helpful. The handbook is nice but doesn’t cover everything.I like the schedule posted in her room. Helps her and us.
