We signed in for a paracentesis at 1230 pm. Afterwards, Dr Perri from Vanderbilt called. My husband's kidney function was worse and wanted Jerry to go to the ER to be admitted to correct the problem. We checked in and there were just a few waiting in the waiting room. We waited several hours, finally was called to the Triage area and a nice blonde lady took his blood and we were escorted back to the waiting room wich had filled to standing room only. We waited two hours more, was taken to a room in the ER. A nurse came in and talked to us, hooked Jerry up to monitor. Jerry had septic shock. His heart rate continued to drop. Jerry ask when he would see a doctor? The nurse said werent you triaged? Jerry told the nurse, he blood drawn and was tild to go back to the waiting room. The nurse said didnt you see a tall nurse practioner and the PA shoey, dark hair and a mustache. Jerry said no i havent seen anyone but you and a nurse or lab tech who drew my blood. She rushed outside, came back with the two men she described. At that time, we had been there 7 1/2 hours before we seen a nurse practioner or PA. They said the ER is busy. My husband had septic shock, NASH, end stage liver disease, decompensated cirrhosis, ascites, PFO, hypoglycemia, Esophageal varices with 14 bands, swelling in lower extremities, wounds bilateral legs. I watched Jerry's blood pressure go to 84/50, 76/36 and one time the bottom number was 25. The nurse gave him injections to get the blood pressure to steady. The Nurse practioner and PA said, sir, you can't go to the floor until the blood pressure stabilizes. At 1230 am we were told my husband would be admitted, going upstairs for a room. Basically, the ER put us in a room and seemed to have forgotten about us. The two nurses took care of Jerry finally at 3 am, a doctor came to see Jerry. He was upset that we had waited so long. In the 15 minutes, we had seen this doctor, he was very kind and got a room upstairs immediately. At 330 am my husband was taken upstairs to a room. We had been there 16 hours and had spent 13 hours in the ER. The doctors and nurses up stairs were amazing. They checked on Jerry, every little bit. Made sure he was comfortable and had what he needed. The workers in paracentesis are always kind and helpful to Jerry. The doctors and nurses have been good to us. The end stage liver disease progressed and we had been to CRMC 5 times since October 2025. Little did we know this would be the last inpatient visit there. So grateful for you all. You saved his life many times but his body was just tired and worn out.

Anytime I've had an issue, It gets analyzed, dealt with and resolved by seemingly very qualified, friendly people. The follow-ups seem at least adequate. What more can I ask?

The E.R doctors were thorough and listened to my concerns and the hospital doctor and staff were friendly and knowledgeable! Loved nurse practicioner, Rhonda! The waiting time to get to my room seemed long. The food not good choices for someone who has gluten allergies, need better choices!Lettuce was wilted in a salad, French fries old cold and nasty!

Had back surgery and the staff treated me extremely well. Made it more bearable and made me feel like they treated me as a friend not just a patient.
