Every aspect of my surgery went very well. From the administrative staff to the medical professionals all were kind, patient, and caring. Couldn't have asked for better.

All of the nurses and doctor's that I encountered for my procedure were amazing. Of course, the usual waiting is annoying, but that is the way it is. The only concern that I would like to mention, when the nurse came and got me to take me to the O.R. she had stated to my husband that he would get 3 phone calls, one from her after I was officially put to sleep and the surgery has began, 2nd from the doctor when the procedure was completed and give an update, and 3rd from recovery when I was awake and feeling good. My husband never received the FIRST update. Sat in a room for over 2 hours completely clueless. He was expecting that initially anyways, but then to be told that he would receive updates and not receive ANY at all, would set anyone in panic. Maybe, don't tell the family you would do those things and not do them?

The care I received from the time I entered emergency through my bypass surgery to recovery and release was the the most professional experience I have ever experienced. Every person made me feel I was the most important patient they ever had.

All the staff on 5W CV Procedure Unit was wonderful and caring. Not a complaint in the world about any of the care I received. I do have a lot to say concerning the surgeon and his staff about a total disconnect in communication and what to expect the day of the procedure.
