CubeSmart immediately raised my storage rental fee by 24% after my first months paid rental. I immediately brought this to the attention of the office manager who refused to even entertain my complaint. In fact, my complaint gave him a chuckle. Imagine that. The office manager's reply was that the new rate was still "below the standard rate for this size unit." This is patently false for two reasons: 1) There is no such thing as a "standard rate" as rates are determined not by a third party, but by the individual facilities offering their rental unit; 2) Rental facilities determine rates based upon their own overhead costs, price comparisons to nearby facilities, average pricing in a region, availability, etc. When I, the paying party, requested to speak with the regional manager--who requested that I leave their facility a 5-star review (which I had)-- my request was denied. I left a message for the regional manager John to call me. He did not. This sleight of hand rate increase raised my rental fee to 24% ABOVE the fees charged by all competing neighboring facilities (including the one I had just moved out of) soon after I moved in. This necessarily caused me to move the entire contents of my 12' x 10' x 8' storage unit twice in just two months--a massive undertaking for a man with severe physical limitations. Having spoken with other facility managers, it was explained to me that due to the extreme nature of a possibility of having to move such amounts of property, managers have the flexibility to adjust rates to avoid causing unreasonable harm to their paying customers, provided the rate is still in alignment with competing facilities. CubeSmart had the right to charge any amount they saw fit, and even increase their fee provided the increase does not violate the contract. This I do not deny, however, doing so to the extent and timing that they did to me was evidence that their expressed interest in their customers is a lie, and to do so after requesting and securing such a glowing review of their facility is absolutely classless. Needless to say, I moved out, and will never recommend them to my friends and family to be spat upon as they did me. A word of caution to anyone who still considers doing business with these shysters after reading this, demand that your rate be locked into your contract for at least 1 year.

27 years, I must have been satisfied, I am moving, but the care and personal service is the reason I stayed so long, surely it wasn't the price. I started with under 100 dollars per month and left with close to 800 a month.

I did have a problem with my drive up 10x10 storage regarding roden destroying boxe that I have to discard and was not aware of this possibility at first, and Thomas got me set up and switch to another inside storage and when out of his way to help me and making this happen, Thomas is definitly a great individual and care about the customer.

First payment needed to be set up and I got a message from someone who left a very unprofessional message.Needed boxes and they were out of what I was looking for so went down the street to U-HaulPrice went up

Monthly costs were getting a bit out of hand.

The rent increases are too much. I got a much better deal with another storage company.

Significant price increase. Found similar parking at 2 nearby places for half of what you were trying to raise me to.
