Ever answer the phone. When I showed up and filled my unit they told me they only had one key and would need to keep it. Unacceptable and ridiculous. They they told me they would get me a copy and it never happened for a month. Too many other issues also. Will never use Cubesmart again and your phone message saying you won an award with customer service is a joke.

Not an ideal setup when needing to access stored material in bad weather. My rates increased by 40% in a single month making it more expensive than conditioned storage facilities nearby.

Overall, signing up for the unit and storage itself was great. David was e tremely helpful in setting everything up for us.The reason I give it a lower score (and I want to give it a zero based on our last encounter) is because we were treated so disrespectfully by Rhett, the manager at the pearl street Boulder CubeSmart when trying to check out on February 16, 2026.I was a secondary contact on my daughter’s account. The account was in her name but had my phone number and email associated with it. I had the key to the storage unit and a copy of the contract with me. She could not travel to Colorado- we now live in a different state- so my husband and I flew to Colorado to close out her account. Rhett refused to be of any help, citing again and again that I was not “authorized’” although I had all the forms with me available. I got my daughter on the phone- offered to face time and have her show her ID, fax it in, etc. He refused to help saying she HAD to come INTO the office herself to close out the account. We asked if there was any other option. He said no over and over again. We asked if she could mail in a letter requesting to close it. After much back and forth, he then decided if she sent In a letter- with a copy of her ID - and had it notarized - it would suffice. I asked him to show me where in the contract it was stated to close out her account, she needed a notarized letter. Again, he refused. This back and forth went on for about 25 minutes. Then I asked him to call his supervisor. Very reluctantly, he did. After just a few quick moments, he hung up and said. “We will close the account.” He was not happy. He refused to do this while I was still there. It was so unpleasant. He was totally unprofessional, unhelpful, and downright dismissive. My husband and I are so unhappy with this worker’s attitude. We hope it is not indicative of the rest of the staff.
