Overall the site is nice, clean, and well managed. The issue I had and the reason for my rating was the INSANE price increase in my unit which went up ~$60/month for no discernible reason. Based on reviews, this seems to be a trend with CubeSmart so I'll need to keep that in mind when deciding storage needs in the future.

If it weren't for Jen, the store manager, I would have pulled my stuff out of Cubesmart and never looked back. Jen was kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and an all around joy to work with. Cubesmart in Brighton, Michigan; however, was a money-grubbing, user-unfriendly establishment out to get everything they can from an unsuspecting public. I rented the largest unit available and in the first year to 1.5 years, my rent was raised from $234 to to $306. Let's put that in perspective: $306 a month for 4 walls, a ceiling, a floor, a light, and a door that doesn't even keep out critters!!! I was going to put air, but since God supplies that, that shouldn't even be considered! That is highway robbery! Not everyone who puts things in storage does so because they have too much stuff and are wealthy! Some of us do it because we need space to fix up a home badly in need of repair and have no other options. I try not to think about the fact that the money I've spent in storage the last 2.5 years is going to far surpass the amount of money I will make to sell everything that was in storage. Luckily, when I decided it was time for a 2nd storage unit, I found 23 Mini-Storage just down the street. It's a brand new storage facility with EXTREMELY reasonable prices. They promise to NOT raise the monthly amount for the1st year and they promise if and when they do raise the price, it will not be more than 10%. EXTREMELY REASONABLE!!! I will be shouting it from the mountain tops and all over social media to stay away from Cubesmart and go to 23 Mini-Storage just down the street. Don't let their name fool you! They have unit just as big as yours!!! Cubesmart - a major disappointment!!!

The unit and facility was very clean and new. The process to set-up our contract was very easy and "hands-free" and we were able to do it all online without having to go into an office or speak to a representative. Even with "hands free" process, I received multiple proactive phone calls from staff to make sure we were all set-up. They even beat me to the phone call to close out our contract when it was time to leave. Great customer service!
