The staff at the Lorraine location are amazing and the rating above is no reflection on them or the service they provide. It is the corporate side that deserve the 0 rating. I have been in that building and a customer for over 8 yrs and to have a rent increase double and triple is not acceptable. They say it is to stay competitive but area costs for a unit that size are around $160-$200.

the staff is great. the location is easy to access. My one criticism is that the spaces are not the measuments that the listings show. For example the 5x10 space is actually 5x8 and the 5x12 space is 5x10 etc etc...

The staff at Cube Smart at 183 Lorraine St. Brooklyn is absolutely the most friendly and helpful staff you could hope for. They are clear, helpful, fast, thoughtful - really great experience!

Cubesmart repeatedly gave me conflicting and misleading information about promotions and pricing across multiple touchpoints. I was initially told by the call center that a promo applied to two units, then later informed it applied to only one, with no clear disclaimer. Different representatives gave me three separate payment scenarios, and communication was often poor — including being cut off mid-call and passed around when asking for a manager.Eventually, a different store manager offered a revised solution (one month free for one unit and 40% off the second), but by that point the experience had already been frustrating and time-consuming. Even at move-in, staff incorrectly told me I needed to pay for locks despite having checked in online.Overall, the issue reflects a lack of consistent training, unclear promotional disclosures, and poor coordination between the call center and store staff. Cubesmart should clearly state promo limitations (e.g., “valid for one unit only”) ONLINE & OVER THE PHONE, ensure employees are aligned on pricing, and avoid misleading potential customers. Given the confusion and inconvenience, complimentary rent would be an appropriate resolution.

I didn’t like that they installed a rug so I could not open my door.

The loading dock is sometimes not available when it is supposed to be. The second elevator was not working for a month or more-

This facility was terribly unreliable. On multiple occasions they were closed without warning, no email or notice. I would travel all the way to the building, during hours they were meant to be open (not on a holiday) and the staff had closed hours early or left for the day, so there was no access. Also, for an entire month I could not get into my unit because carpets were installed that blocked the door. I had to ask the staff repeatedly when the issue would be resolved. I was always given different answers, and on one occasion they told me that the door was open but I travelled all the way to the unit to find out that it was still blocked. An entire month that I couldn't get things in or out of a storage unit I was paying for. All that was offered was a $20 credit towards the next month, that didn't actually get applied until months later after I had to ask about it multiple times. I don't blame the staff at the location, who were always trying to be accommodate, and I'm sure they were doing their best to follow company policies. But frankly the management and company policies are horrible. Would only recommend if there are no other options in the area.
