Overall no major issues with the storage unit itself. (We had it for way too long.) Issue I have is under new management, we could no longer come and go at our convenience, 24/7. Not that we needed to go late often, but if/when we did, it was nice knowing we could. The upcoming price increase, in my opinion, is not necessary. These are not temperature controlled nor sprayed for insects/varments on any regularity as far as I know.

During my search for a storage unit, I talked to 3 different people at CubeSmart. Each time I was told that if I didn't need the lock that I could turn it into the office within 3 days for a full refund as long as it was not opened. The day that I completed my paperwork, I called the Corpus location. I was convinced to do my paperwork online. I had even told the employee that I would be bringing a lock and would return the one that was left in the unit for a refund of $21.64. The next day after completing my paperwork and payment online, I was told that they could not refund the lock because I did the paperwork online. REALLY!?! I did nothing wrong but now I am out the cost of the lock.

At first it was great but I had to move fir a larger unit. I moved into another area and it has a strong c chemical odor. It permeate it into my belongings. I had to wash my clothes and it cost me fifty dollars and it costs me fifty dollars. I had to lay my things out so that the odor what disappear.

During my 1.5 years of being with Fox Storage, things went well. Then CubeSmart took over. Since that time, the facitlity had the fence to the grounds cut open and the "L" building was broken into (my building). 4 units were broken into & property was stolen (not mine thankfully). During the time that CubeSmart was in control of the facility, a full size school bus was allowed to park near the entrance to the "L" building which made it more difficult to park near the entrance to move into or out of the building. The school bus was not only parked near the entrance of the building, but was being rebuilt in that area. To add to the congestion in that area, there was a tree from a neighboring property growing through the fence that was so large that it further restricted passage in the driveway which I complained about that was never resolved. Also since CubeSmart took over, whenever I made comments about lights being out in the hallways, they never were fixed. The final straws that broke the Camels back was the infestation of rats in the "L" building. After notifing managment (they were unawear) the problem prositsted, ruining family arlooms At one point we were actually double locked out of our unit, with no one in the office to help or explain. Then CubeSmart had the balls to raise the space fees more than 20%. I had, had enough. I found another place with the same size unit (10x20) for $117 less.

I was a customer at that location for probably 15+ years. I had never had an issue with safety when the previous owner/company managed the location. When CubeSmart took over, not only was my storage unit (and 3 others at the same time) broken into and I had SEVERAL totes stolen, the following week another 4 units were broken into in the same building. Cube Smart then wanted to increase my rent by 24% giving the reason that they wanted to maintain a clean and safe storage facility. I would not call 2 break-ins in 2 weeks a "safe" facility. Cube smart did NOTHING to prevent this from happening again. You put no kind of locking system or keypad on the outside doors to prevent further break-ins. POOR JOB CUBESMART!!!
