Overall good. I was happy to be able to rent a unit quickly and that it was available the next day on a holiday. I was less happy when I went to move out and learned all the carts are locked-up overnight. I realize they probably get stolen, but there should be a way to provide a secure way to get one as this made moving out a lot more of a pain.

This place is a total rip-off. I can’t believe how often you raise prices.

I have been a long-term CubeSmart customer and have always been enrolled in automatic bill pay. My household currently rents two 10×15 units with CubeSmart—one in Dallas and one in Florida. My concern is not with the local store employees. They were courteous and professional. My concern is with CubeSmart's management and customer retention process.I found an identical 10×15 unit in the same building (Unit 2003), directly below my existing unit (3034), advertised online for $169 per month. Rather than move, I simply asked if CubeSmart would match the advertised online rate. The local staff explained they did not have that authority and referred the request to the Sales Manager.I requested multiple times that the Sales Manager contact me. No one ever called or emailed. Instead, on June 24, I received notice that my rent for Unit 3034 would increase to $519 per month. Ironically, management had no difficulty contacting me to increase my rent, but never contacted me to discuss my concerns. At that point, I rented Unit 2003 at the advertised online rate, spent hours moving everything one floor down, and closed Unit 3034 on June 26.The core issue is not that rates increase over time. The core issue is that CubeSmart advertised an identical unit in the same building for $169 while expecting an existing customer to pay $519 for the same product. I wasn't asking for special treatment. I simply asked to pay the same publicly advertised online rate for an identical unit in the same building. From a customer's perspective, the website presents $169 as the current rental rate. If CubeSmart believes $519 is the appropriate rate, then advertise $519. If $169 is the price advertised to attract new customers, it is reasonable for loyal customers to question why they are paying approximately three times as much for an identical unit.CubeSmart ultimately accepted $169 per month from me anyway. The only difference is that I spent hours moving everything one floor, employees processed a move-out and move-in, and a loyal customer was ignored. I fail to see how that benefits either CubeSmart or its customers.

I discovered that we were paying $380 for the storage unit because we had been customers since 2007, so we just paid every price increase as it happened. I then discover that a new customer would be paying $179 for the same unit, and unless we initiated a negotiation for the rent, we would be left paying the increase. So you screw your most loyal customers. Plus, many items were stolen from our unit recently, and the company has NO security cameras or sufficient safeguards to prevent things like that from happening. Your company really, really sucks.

I was grateful for CubeSmart bc I was moving to a new city and needed a storage unit at the last minute bc my apartment wouldn't be ready for move-in right away. That meant I needed to access the unit for the first time on Memorial Day and while the online experience said that would work, sometimes reality is different with local staff. Thankfully, the facility was staffed and I got an email the storage unit was ready to move-in that morning and the person onsite was very friendly when I arrived.

My camper is stolen and was informed after 52 days later.
