Ultimately it is pricing and a stupid business model. Over the last two+ years there have been multiple elevator outages lasting for several months along with door closures. But, the constant price hikes got through to me: CubeSmart would rather have empty units than keep existing customers. Tie this to a complete unwillingness to offer any negotiating on this and it became clear that having customers is against CubeSmart’s operating model. Heaven help any investors who have financed this pig!

The customer service is horrible - the worst I've every experienced. Our contract was breached when we got a notification stating our rent would DOUBLE in less than two weeks, not giving us the 30 days notice that the agreement states. We were accused of damaging a gate when we never made contact with any part of the gate (we were told they had "proof" on video, but the camera angle doesn't even show the front of the car or gate). Absolutely awful experience. Would NEVER use a Cubesmart again.
