The absolute worst part of CubeSmart is its predatory pricing toward existing customers. My records show I was charged $705/month from at least November 18, 2024 through July 18, 2025. Then, on August 18, 2025, my monthly charge jumped to $807 — a $102/month increase, or about 14.5%.Less than a year later, CubeSmart sent me a rate change notice dated June 14, 2026 stating that effective July 17, 2026, my monthly payment would increase again to $924/month. That is another $117/month increase, again about 14.5%.In total, CubeSmart raised my monthly payment from $705 to $924 in the period shown — a $219/month increase, or about 31.1%. Yet immediately after I canceled, CubeSmart was advertising a 10x30 outside drive-up unit at this same Bellaire location online for $375/month, with a listed in-store rate of $750.So an existing customer was being pushed up to $924/month while new customers were being offered the same size unit at the same location for $375 online. That is outrageous. It feels abusive, deceptive, and intentionally designed to exploit customers once their belongings are already stored there. I would never recommend CubeSmart. Their pricing practices destroyed my trust completely.

There was not a lot asked of the service. The recent price change really irked me and since I do not have many things in my storage unit, I just decide to find another place for my things.

The cost of renting the unit tripled since we began renting yet Cube Smart offers new customers a price for less than half what they wanted to charge me. I never expected the charge to triple and I could no longer afford the unit. I tried talking to someone at Cube Smart four different times and got no response despite leaving messages and talking to a manager who claimed she would get back to me (she didn’t). Emptying the unit was a major inconvenience and Cube Smart should have worked with me.
