The staff (Trena), cleanliness, enforcing policy and procedures, safety (although a couple of times the doors automatically opened without the code (simply by approaching it). The elevators have sometimes been out of order for a while but we understand you rely on the service provider.

Price increases that do not meet inflation in area were very disturbing. I started at $183 and in 4 years it increased to $566. That is 200% increase. I have submitted a documented case to the Texas Attorney General’s office with emphasis on units such as cubesmart to provide to interested customers their history of increase for last 5 years. Had I known the outcome, would have moved sooner.

This is a relatively new location. Things started great. I rented a 5 x 5 shortly after opening and without a hitch. Since renting again in the last year, the service has not been commensurate with the rates. The office staff has been exceptional, and I regret they may have received the brunt of the complaints. Ineffective, due to the staff’s inability to fix systemic problems from upper management not on site. 1) The middle entrance sliding door has never been sufficiently repaired or replaced, and an elevator here and there has been out of service at the same time, resulting in a maze to get to an assigned cube. 2) There was a complimentary move-in truck inside the gated lot that was not in service when I moved in (why at the very least no sign on the truck indicating “out of service”). 3) I rented Cube 4280 online to receive the reduced online rate. When I went into the office to complete registration, there was an electronic problem with the first payment, resulting in charging me the “in person” fee, and also a late fee for some reason. Not to mention the time utilized to be present at the office. 4) When I entered my bank account information for autopay, one of the units failed to receive payment after the due date. I was charged another late fee. Most sites let you know immediately if the card or account information does not work, versus waiting until the due date has passed and a payment has failed. 5) There were not a sufficient number of carts in the designated areas on many occasions. 6) I requested a phone number to call since there is essentially no customer service number for concerns. I left a voicemail and never received a reply. It is my belief that the ownership of this particular facility is counting on the population growth of the area. In other words, integrity takes a back seat to the sheer number of folks who will come and go to keep the business going. And to hell with the staff at the front desk. After all, they can take the heat, right?! In my line of work (if one wants to call it work), I would not be allowed to continue doing what I do if I worked this way. I have an idea. If there are investors receiving an annual ROI, maybe one or each of them should return a bit of what they have earned sitting on the sidelines, and compensate me for the late fees, the inflated rent “adjustments,” and any of the other inconveniences stated above? I believe in compensating folks well when service is well performed. Not so in this case. The one noteworthy compliment I can pay to this facility is that my items remained safe, despite at least one documented break-in in the last three years. If the United States is supposed to be the greatest country on the planet, then this facility is not indicative of that statement. This is coming from an individual who lived in another country for three years and who learned to speak its language and to respect its values.
