I would have given a 10 but the prices increase over the past few years are a strong negative. 15%+ a year is not sustainable

I filled out the form online and it didn’t give me an option to turn in my insurance. It charged me for insurance and I wasn’t able to get refunded even though I already had it.

I've been a customer of CubeSmart (Storage West and previous) at the same location in Irvine, CA for almost 30 years.In the past couple of years, the rates raised significantly several times to over $200 per month for a 5' x 8' unit.New customers at CubeSmart were not being charged those rates, and other storage facilities were not charging that rate.So, I was considering moving due to pricing; however, CubeSmart said they were going to do repairs on the building my unit was in, and they sent me a letter saying I needed to move my contents or, if it went past a certain date, CubeSmart would move it to another unit at the same location at no charge to me.I didn't have time to move everything, so I was going to let CubeSmart handle it.About a month later, CubeSmart sent me another letter saying they would NOT move the contents, that my lease was being terminated, and I needed to move my contents out by a specific date.After 30 years of being a customer, CubeSmart just kicked me out after saying they would take care of it and then went back on their word.So, you should not be surprised that I would not recommend CubeSmart. In fact, I go out of my way to tell anyone who mentions storage to NOT use CubeSmart because of the way I was treated.CubeSmart could have offered another unit, they could have offered a discount for a long-time (30 year) customer, but in the end, they didn't care about me as a customer, so I don't see why I should care about CubeSmart as a company.I did find another storage facility that had a slightly larger unit for HALF the price and was closer to where I live now, so in the end, I am VERY HAPPY TO NO LONGER BE A CUSTOMER OF CUBESMART!And, I think the way you treated me as a customer was very poor in the end.By the way, the management on-site were great, kind, and helpful. This was an issue with how corporate handled it because the local management's hands were tied.I know you mostly care about money and running a business, but it's a shame that you don't seem to care about your customers at all (30 years, raising rates above market prices, and forcing a move out).I hope that someone takes the time to read this and convey it to others in your organization, rather than just dismissing it.
