I have had 2 storage units when it was Champion Self storage back in 2006, then it changed when Cubesmart took over, it seemed every-time I was there was a different person in the office, they kept raising my rent, I had to notify Stephanie Hunter about the AC, as I paid for climate control but it took forever to get the AC fixed I literally almost passed out once in my unit it was that hot, took over a year to get the magnets on the doors fixed, try pulling in a dolly while trying to hold open a heavy door, I can’t tell you how many times that door hit me, the floors were nasty, I literally took pictures everyday and yes I was in my unit everyday, that’s is why I know how long the AC was not working and how nasty the floors looked with trash and dead bugs every where .The gate was constantly broken, finally after again on going for over a year to fix the problem The last straw was the last increase of $25, that put me at close to $700. So since they built a brand new Atlantic Self Storage literally 10minutes from Cubesmart, I went and looked at them, you walk through sliding doors dolly’s up front to cold cold AC, it smelled fresh and the floors were spotless, we were in there as they literally were mopping the floors, staff very friendly and helpfully, bathrooms were always available not like at Cubesmart locked half the time, While I was moving out of my 10x20 where my furniture was stored there were live cockroaches and bugs had gotten on my dining room table and destroyed it, it was an antique so now I have to try to find someone to hopefully repair it, I noticed a hole in the wall where they ran some sort of box and did not seal it could be why my unit was so hot and bugs were getting in, I paid for a climate controlled unit to keep that from happening, squirrels had also gotten in and there was insulation over all the stuff in the back of the unitI currently am renting a 15x30 and pay about $100 less then my 10x20 & 10x30 combinedWith the rate increase and the condition of the storage facility is causing a lot of people to move out as we ran into several that stated that was their reason for moving out and going to Atlantic, I was a loyal customer I was one of the first that rented again almost 20yrs and that didn’t seem to matter, I always had to call Stephanie and she would adjust it, but the last increase I realized loyalty really doesn’t mean anything. So it was time for me to go
