On Monday 03/30/26 around 4:30pm I went to your location in Orange to cancel my storage unit. The storage was emptied and all that remained was my personal lock that I used so the unit could not be broken into. My girlfriend and I entered the office and spoke with the women working. I explained that I need to close my account. I explained it was empty and informed her that I needed to remove the lock. She rudely responded that "yes, of course you need to, if not I can't close the account". She then informed me to follow her to the unit to verify it was empty. I understock and we followed her in my vehicle to the unit. While walking up to me she says to me with a upset look on her face, "is that your water bottle right there?" Looking back several yards away was an empty water bottle. I told her no, I just walked up to the unit with you. She actually insinuated; it was me who through the bottle. I unlocked my lock, showed her the empty unit and she verified it was empty. She said there was no need to go back to the office. I then asked informed her that I had the original lock that was issued to me when I rented the unit. I told her I never used it because I owned the same lock and did not need the one provided but because I rented on a Sunday and the office was closed, I was given the lock, charged $20 for the lock and was unable to return it on the Sunday I moved in the unit. She rudely said no. I can't do that. I again tried to explain it was never used and when I had rented a unit before at the same facility, did not need the lock and was issued a refund. She again told me she would not return the lock. I told her fine, but I would return to speak with a manager who was not as rude and whiling to listen to my explanation. She told me go ahead; you can do what you want but they will just tell you the same thing. --- Just a terrible interaction. In the end it was not the $20, it was the comment about the water bottle and the rude attitude I encounter from the very start of my visit. Your female employee needs additional customer service training.
