Less than 2 weeks upon renting the space my unit, along with several others, were broken into. The woman that I spoke to on the phone, telling me about the break-ins then told me this is not an isolated incident and it happens often in storage units. She then demanded I “bring [my] account balance forward,” by paying the remaining $6 balance for the green lock they put on new units that is to be put on the unit prior to move in. Apparently this needed to be returned within 7 days to avoid a $25 charge. They had auto deducted $19 from my account. But I don’t keep much in that account until I pay a bill and there was only $19 there at the time. Had she simply waved that $6 and offered me a more secure unit inside (at a different price of course) I may have stayed. I canceled my rental and went somewhere else, where I am paying $50 a month more. That woman had no sense of customer service. She was very cold and heartless on the phone. I was laughing about the irony of the situation as it’d only been two weeks before a break-in and I hadn’t even moved my household belongings in yet due to an unforeseen schedule disruption. I didn’t yell on the phone. I didn’t become condescending. I simply asked if this happens often. She confirmed it does. And then explained that’s the nature of storage units. I’ve been using storage units across the country for nearly 30 years. I have never had a unit broken into. I let her know I would think about my rental agreement and whether I’d remain with them. She said I needed to decide soon. She then reminded me again that I needed to bring my account balance forward and that my rent was due April 17th (the call was on April 2nd). I did hear her tell “Devora” that she was speaking to me and that I was the one that hadn’t moved in, yet. I was not impressed at all. Well, I have cancelled my contract with them via phone to the national number and via email to Devora.

Horrible customer got y storage unit broken into 2 twice and stole my motorcycle and y’all just wiped your hands so now I’m bike less

Because of people are very rude there's nobody there at the vicinity monitoring who's coming in and out my story was broken twice into it everything was taken no cameras showing who was in there people don't stay in the apartment on top of the building and the people who are working in that area at 7:00 what is the main reason for the United Way
