This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a service provider. The staff at the Upshur location is extremely rude and unhelpful. After years of dealing with a mice infestation and feces in my unit.. I had enough. I moved one block away to Extra Space Storage and I feel like I should have done it years ago. I may pay a little more, but the price is good for a year and its extremely clean. The staffs response each time I complained... all storage units have mice. Not a solution or true. Several times I was charged late fees because of an auto charge not going thru and then no notice provided to me. DO BETTER!

Unaccountable and unresponsive management; failure to give proper notice of price increases; failure to maintain wood working order and accessibility of unit; mouse droppings, humidity and sanitation issues.

I made a reservation to sign lease on Thursday on 02/12/26. I arrived on Thursday signed the lease for a 10 by 20. Went to my storage unit only to see it was flooded. Went to the store manager whose name is Marco. He checked the system if there was another 10 by 20 available and there was none. So he said I should sign in for a 10 by30 since that was available. He said he will reach out to his supervisor and a price adjustment will be done. He will get back to me by the end of the day. Today is 02/15/26 and I am yet to hear from Marco the store manager or anyone from Cubesmart.

Cannot simply reserve without a lock being automatically added even though I bought one the last time rented storage there. Also, no one there to check out when I ended rental so I called the main number. They didn’t close account, but emailed store and said I was all set. Store never got message and I had to call again when I got charged for the next month even though I was no longer using it.

Good personnel. Expensive unit cost.

Easy to reserve. My unit though had a pretty large wall within it taking away space I paid for. My gate code also stopped working for some reason but the person at the desk was helpful.

There was always a funky smell in the building. Most of my stored items were covered in mouse excrement. In June, 2024, the closing gate fell on my car and destroyed the back of my car. No one from the company would return my call to address the issue. It took 16 months for CubeSmart to pay my insurance company in order to get my deductible reimbursed. My monthly rent increased 3 times in the time I was there.
