Ford service usually does a great job when it comes to repairs, etc. But my most recent visit to David McDavid Ford in Fort Worth, TX was not to my satisfaction. The service writer, Jonathan, is a friendly employee, but we had a misunderstanding about when my 2020 F-150 pickup would be serviced once I brought it in. The Sync 3 module needed to be checked for either an upgrade or a module replacement. He explained that Ford was aware of this Sync 3 problem, but there were no recalls, so he told me I’d be paying for either an upgrade or a replacement of the module. I brought my vehicle in on a Wednesday afternoon when I was off work for the afternoon. He told me that the next day, Thursday he would have the specialist investigate the problem. If it was not done by Thursday, by Friday then. I called to check on my vehicle on Friday after not hearing back with an update. I had to leave messages. However, no one called me back. I ended up driving to the dealership to find Jonathan or someone to tell me the status of my truck. I found Jonathan. He said that something was wrong with David McDavid’s phone lines. I took that with a grain of salt. He then said my truck was in a bullpen behind other cars waiting for “trim” service. I was not aware that Sync 3 was considered trim. The repair (an upgrade to the Sync 3 system) was finally done. I picked up my truck on Sept 13th. It was just an extremely long wait for a two hour tops upgrade to my Sync 3 system.
