Car was in for a recall on the window trim for windshield. Was told 2-3 days and I had to pay for the rental— Ford does doesn’t cover it! So wrong. When I picked it up on 3rd day was told they only did Trim B - Trim A was on back order till August. What! I will not pay for another rental. If the work is a RECALL- there is a problem and it NEEDS to be fixed. That’s on FORD to provide the replacement parts and work to be done timely. Not to inconvenience the owner and should cover rentals if the recall is necessary- that’s called doing the right thing to keep your customers! I have had a few recalls for my 2016 Explorer and have made appointments only to show up and be told we don’t have the parts. That’s unacceptable. I am very disappointed in Ford over the past 5 or so years. I’m this the service department is short staffed. - not my problem! Parts aren’t available - not my problem. Will take a few days only for the car not to be touched until over 24 hours then take another 8 hours for it to be evaluated. I also had my a/c looked at as it was intermittently not blowing cool air. I first received quotes on the throttle body and new air filter - didn’t know a recall included a full evaluation of the car. Then on 3 rd day was told they couldn’t fine anything wrong with a/c - okay I will watch it. Then told full recall could not be completed. Trim A is what needed as I called for the service because the trim was pulling out and flapping in the breeze as I drove. I was told - it’s okay, some people drive 2 years without those parts! I was shocked at that comment. Thought the parts were important enough to warrant a recall to be replaced. Enough said - nothing but frustration over past few years with ford and dealership. Will need a new car in near future and will definitely consider all my options. I have been a Ford owner since 1983 but will consider all options next time.
