I am so glad to have found a comfortable person who is caring and proactive in mediating with my primary care PA. Thanks for giving me a safe journey through my struggles.

It was very easy and I felt very comfortable talking with them virtually. They explained to me various options to take for birth control and took into account my medical background. I felt that trustworthiness with them. I recommend their services.

I really enjoy being a patient at Diana health. However, there are small items that could be tightened up to make the experience more enjoyable for all patients, but especially newly pregnant women.I have a few examples of inconsistent messaging I have received from different staff members and providers.1. Although this one isn’t a big deal. It would be nice if the practice had the same few recommendations to pregnant women. I was told to make sure I’m drinking enough water. When I ask how much enough is, one provider told me I need to drink at least a gallon a day. I’m 5 foot and originally weighed 104 pounds before pregnancy. Another provider told me to drink 2 L a day. I had asked specifically for ounces and it would be nice if the messaging for all patients across all providers was X amount of ounces or double your weight ounces. No one carries bottles that are a gallon or that measures in liters. So the conversions are a little silly to have to think through.2. I asked if I should fast before my glucose test. The provider told me no and that I could eat breakfast ahead of time. When I went to the front desk to schedule my glucose test, the front desk representative said “OK and you know you need to fast right?” at my next appointment I asked a different provider if I needed to fast before my glucose test and she told me yes that it is recommended. Although fasting may or may not be that big of a deal, it does feel like a big deal to the patient having the correct information so that numbers are not skewed.3. I showed up for my 20 week ultrasound with my appointment with a midwife scheduled after the ultrasound. When I arrived, I was asked if I knew my 20 week appointment with the midwife was canceled due to there being an emergency delivery. I was not informed prior to arriving at the office. The office manager told me I should have received a call stating that that appointment was canceled and it should be canceled on the app. The office failed to notify me that the second appointment was canceled and the appointment still showed as active on the app. Although I had the ultrasound Still scheduled and I was able to attend it, I drive 45 minutes to get to Diana health and have to take off work in order to do so and if the ultrasound hadn’t been scheduled the same day, I would have shown up to the office and there wouldn’t have been an appointment. This isn’t a big deal to you all, but again to the patient who is losing money by being off work, gas, money, time, etc. it is a big deal. If I no-show to an appointment, I am charged $100, but if you guys cancel on me without notice, there is no repercussion on your end but only the patient suffers.4. More miscommunication. I was asked if I wanted to schedule all of my appointments with my doctor or with midwives because if I wanted a natural delivery, only midwives deliver naturally in the doctor only steps in if medical intervention is needed like a C-section. I asked the nurse. She said this is incorrect and that I can have whoever I want deliver my baby. The office manager was supposed to give me a call to confirm or deny. Never did. I asked the doctor at the next appointment and he confirmed that typically midwives help you labor and then deliver naturally.5. Small thing. But when a patient is a new mom, it would be helpful to give them a heads up for their first ultrasound that they need to have a full bladder for the appointment. This would be a helpful thing to just receive a message in the app as a reminder.6. When I asked if there is an alternative to the glucose test. I was told that I can order the fresh test on Amazon and bring it in with me. When I left the appointment, I looked it up and saw that there are different packet sizes. 50 g, 75 g, 100 g. It would be helpful to be informed which packet to select. When I came in for my next appointment, I asked again so that I could find out which packet to purchase and I was informed that I don’t have to purchase it on my own and that the office supplies it.. Again super minor but just a little bit of consistency would go a long way.7. For the genetic NIPT test, it would be helpful to just give a blanket statement to patients letting them know that their insurance may not cover the genetic test testing or it might be out of network. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee and it was out of network and I was sent a bill for $14,000. However, I used to work in revenue cycle and understand that I could apply for financial assistance and was able to get my bill down to $300. Other individuals may not be aware of this, but might also be shocked when they get a statement for such a large amount and it can cause unnecessary stress. Just giving them a heads up that it might be out of network or not covered could make the difference of whether the patient chooses to get the test or not.8. I was a little concerned I was gaining too much weight in the beginning of the second trimester. I asked the provider if my weight looked OK. She said.” Uhh probably need to slow it down a little bit. Just cut out sugary drinks.” I only drink water or organic juices without any added sugars. It would’ve been helpful if she asked how does your diet currently look?, how much exercise are you getting?, be sure to prioritize protein, and less processed foods.I truly don’t mean to rant because there are so many bigger fish to fry and I know you all provide such great service to many happy patients. I just wanted to provide a little feedback on my experience. I don’t feel like I have unrealistic expectations, however, I am trusting you guys with such a major life event, and the small inconsistencies make me feel a little unsettled if there are more concerning questions or decisions at hand.
