I thought it was only fitting to drop you a line to express my thanks for both the treatment received and the professional conduct, kindness and patience exhibited by everyone I came into contact with at the Edinburgh G&T practice. Allow me to expand. I have suffered severe dental anxiety for decades. I could not summon the courage to talk about visiting a dentist let alone make an appointment. I am well aware that dentophobia, like many other phobias, is a state of mind and that anxiety or fear generated is unfounded. Nonetheless the fear itself is real and can affect one's life in a severely detrimental manner. My wife is a patient at your practice and, after hearing her talking so positively of her experience, I decided I would face my anxiety and make an appointment. This itself was a very difficult thing for me to do and I had to have a few large 'medicinals' before I could even make the call. I did not sleep the night before my appointment and was extremely nervous as I approached the office. I am delighted to report that visiting your practice has been an extremely rewarding experience. I was put at ease from the very beginning. I have now overcome my severe dental anxiety and this is entirely due to your staff. The patience, understanding, and care I received was outstanding. Whereas it is unlikely that I will ever list visiting the dentist as part of my top ten list of favourite things to do, it no longer holds any anxiety or fear and I have already booked my follow up appointments in three months time.
