About a year ago, I consulted Dr Drews and his team regarding a long-term solution to the poor condition of my teeth and gums. In my view of my medical condition (heart surgery) Axel was concerned about the possibility of infection arising from my poor oral hygiene and dental condition. He therefore recommended the extraction of all my remaining teeth (about fifteen) apart from two which were still reasonably robust. This having been done, I then underwent lengthy and complicated surgery involving the crowning of my two remaining teeth and insertion of two implants at strategic points in my lower jaw all of which formed a bedrock for new lower dentures.an upper denture was also fitted. As a result, I now have a fully functional and cosmetically pleasing set of dentures. This has benefited me medically and has enhanced my confidence socially. Throughout the procedure, the standard of care provided by Axel and his team was excellent and carried out in a very professional and understanding manner. All the staff at the clinic were friendly and accommodating and I would have no hesitation in recommending Edinburgh Gums and Teeth to anyone seeking dental care.

" I have just finished a long course of treatment, which involved 4 crowns and 2 implants. Two of the crowns weren't planned, but I lost a veneer from a front tooth and Axel suggested that it was crowned, and the old crown beside it should be redone also. I am delighted with the result, and have a much better smile now!! I had quite a bit of dental treatment while living abroad, and after 15 years a bridge and 2 supporting crowns had to be replaced. Instead of another bridge it was decided 2 implants and 2 new crowns would be a better solution. The preparatory work was started on 17th March, and then lockdown happened, which wasn't a bad thing as it gave my gums 5 months to really heal before finishing the treatment. Instead of the usual impressions, with that disgusting blue gunk, Axel used the new "iTero scanner", which was fascinating to watch and to see what this amazing bit of kit can do. It certainly did a terrific job of measuring up the new teeth. Now I have a mouthful of new teeth, and am more than happy. Axel is a great dentist, very competent, caring and meticulous in his work. I would thoroughly recommend him. The entire staff at Edinburgh Gums and Teeth are very professional and as their sign says, "smiles" are very much in evidence from everyone who works there."
