patient's mom KAYLA is calling in upset they are receiving a bill for the culture for the urine on 12/03/2025 from Quest Diagnostics. She is stating they did not authorize this culture to be completed and should not be billed. I reviewed further, received a response from Practice Manager that unfortunately, the culture is needed to ensure that the antibiotic that was prescribed is sensitive to the infection and will provide effective treatment. We do not typically ask for authorization. It is just the next step in treatment. I called and relayed this information to Kayla and she states still disputing the charge from Quest as she did not authorize and was told by Quest that we cannot charge her when she didn't authorize the service .
