We’ve been staying at Gallagher Lake for over 20 years. Over the last five years we have really noticed a growing disrespect from some camping groups in regards to noise, music etc, which I am happy to say has been mostly addressed this year. A group playing loud music on the beach was promptly shut down. Furthermore a group camping close to us was asked to quiet down at 11:00 pm. As soon as the security left them after explaining the need to quiet down, they escalated the volume. I caught up with the staff member 10 min later to explain the issue. He took immediate steps to follow up with the group and I’m happy to say he gave them no alternative but to go into their camper. Problem solved. I would like to thank him personally but I don’t recall his name. It was on Thursday, Aug 21. One thing however that is still not being addressed and I’m probably more sensitive to sound than most people is campers playing music at their sites most of the time it is quiet but they don’t realize that the base their stereos produce can be heard across the campground. It’s just a pet peeve of mine. Otherwise I’m very happy with the improved enforcement of the campground rules…well done!

The resort Internet continues to be a big issue / we have starlink but with all the trees it doesn’t work as well with all the obstructions (trees). In today’s age with our dependence and need for fast reliable internet the current provider is not acceptable / very slow speeds Please invest in a better provider with better speed

Site locking fee is unnecessary, for people booking year after year we should be guaranteed our site number without having to pay another fee. Evening guy on cart yelling at kids to get back to their site before 9 (848 to be exact) was unnecessary. He was rude every single night yelling at all kids on bikes even though we were told at check in that kids could ride bikes until quiet time (11pm) as long as they had a light on their bike. Ours all had bike lights but were yelled at and followed but this man on his golf cart. That ruined our experience as playing in the dark is our kids favorite part about camping.

It would be nice to see Gallagher RV resort, landscaping around the beach and lake area updated, and kept up. So much space previously used in past years to picnic, sit in the shade, etc.,has been overgrown and neglected. The grass on both sides of the lake/beach area is now dead and Sandy and dry.

The condition of the ladies showers were deplorable. One hook for "you choose" towel or clothes. Puddle in front of the left side showers due to nowhere to put soap/shampoo so water dripping when you reached for soap/shampoo from the goo far away shelf. Adding a stick on shelf in the shower stall for soap/shampoo would at least eliminate the dripping. A rubber mat similar to the one at the entrance door would help or a drain that sloped the right way. For the cost of a stay I sincerely think you could do better for a very minimal fix. The "free" was a nice surprise.

A very busy time of year, but staff were cheerful, polite and welcoming. The site was clean, and facilities were well maintained.

I really don’t understand why your booking system is day numbers instead of days of the week. I will lose my site by next year as my holidays are sundays to saturdays. So I have already had to shorten my stay as I have to leave on Sunday instead of the Tuesday, which means 2027 I will only have 3 days at your resort and it is to far to drive for only 3 days. All other places we have ever booked at do sundays to Saturday! Very dissatisfied with this! Also I have a concern about the children speeding around on their electric bikes, scooters etc. very dangerous, cars are only allowed to drive 10 and these are going much faster. Maybe the security could keep an eye on these children rather than the older ones that are just trying to have fun and camp. As an adult I even found it like a prison camp once the quiet hour approached. Not that we were loud but we were up playing cards etc and treated like children. I understand quiet time but it was a little extreme this year in my opinion.

We would love to see something about the beach. There was a group that was at least 20+ people and they all had their chairs right next to eachother along the beach right at the water, by doing this all other resort guests had to use 1/4 of the beach and water access and then when kids were trying to play in the sand/water there was little to no space, and most of the water area was in access able . I am hoping that potentially there could be something saying chairs can’t be grouped in more than groups of 4, or maybe must be 6 ft back from the shore line. Something to make it so all beach goers can actually access the water. It was ridiculous and this has happened every year we have been there.

All the smoking on the property was a challenge this week. Our next door neighbour smoked cigars all day and night, which we couldn’t sit out and enjoy our site like we usually do. They also had a family member (son) who came to visit for the long weekend and he continued to walk up and down the road with a cigarette in his mouth. As well, at the beach there were many people smoking cigarettes which made it very hard to enjoy our beach experience. We have young children and a pregnant wife, who none of them (or anyone else at the site) should be exposed to that amount of smoke. This experience was enough for us to rethink about not booking next year, or changing our site completely (not an option right now but we will be calling throughout the year to try to change).
