Although my tour was great, I applied and everything changed. I was judged by the office manager for some “odd” reason. I called directly after to let them know I applied. The woman looked at my application and told me that I had an open balance on my credit from Mitchell Lofts for $275 from July 2024. I informed her that I can pay that then provide a receipt. She said that she would have someone email me so that I can submit the receipt. 20 minutes later I got a decline email. I called back and asked why and was told, “my manager looked up your name in the Dallas system and saw that you have an active eviction from Mitchell Lofts” I am not getting evicted, my lease is indeed up and I paid my final months rent late due to moving expenses so they filed and eviction. I have paid my final months rent and have proof of that as well. My problem is the random searching of my name. As a professional this was not only inequitable, discriminatory and just lame, I know at least 3 ppl that stay there with prior evictions. This was unnecessary especially with the amount of apartments in Dallas, I chose these apartments because of the convenience. Never again will I tell anyone to move here. I’m a teacher and doctoral student that makes 3x the rent. They told me that I didn’t make enough either. I understand that everyone has a job to do butI want the manager to get off their high horse and know that karma is real. Life humbles everyone and what they did was evil and unnecessary.

I really love living here, I love the area, I love that I can walk to go places! I love the apartments, the design… beautiful! I understand that things broke but is very rare and whenever that happens is fixed almost right away, I also understand the trash issues is more on the residents than the people that work really hard to keep clean the building. I really have no complaints and I’m very happy living here.

Overall we have really enjoyed our experience with this property and management. Specifically, I enjoy how the management team cultivates a sense of community by hosting resident events. I also enjoy the technological enhancements made such as the utilization of the community app to help with easy of access to the building. However, I do have two suggestions as areas of improvement. Firstly, I haved wondered if it would provide additional visibility of oncoming traffic in the garage if convex safety mirrors were to be installed at the turning points of each level. Secondly, I'm often dismayed to find that some residents lack the mindfulness to clean up after their dogs in the community dog run. It's unsightly and concerning as dog feces carries a multitude of bacteria that can be transfered from dog-to-dog (or even dog-to-human). It's been so off-putting that I've resigned taking my own dog there and prefer to take her outside the property instead. I also feel terrible for the cleaning crew that has to take on the responsibility of clearing most of it on the days that the dog run is cleaned. On the topic of the dog run, it would also be nice to see some kind of overhead coverage installed for days when the weather is less than ideal. Other than that, I'm satisfied with my experience and look forward to another year as a resident of Gatsby on Ross.
