Nearness to family, smaller sized building, friendliness of staff, memory care emphasis

I was touring for a place in your memory care for my Mom. I received details about your facility from A Place for Mom, Jayson Sargent. I had an option of 5 facilities to visit, and after our tour in your facility, I felt comfortable with your surrounding. The outdoor garden areas are lovely and remind me of my Mom's yard so I thought this would be a nice location for Mom. Your staff is so friendly and listened to our needs and were very knowledgeable in the care of dementia residents. As we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and the PEAK area were involving the residents in a sing along. Your facilities is comfortable and homey for the residents. We were invited to visit or call for updates on Mom and to feel free to come and have lunch with her or sign her out for an outing. I had a good feeling the minute I walked into the facility.

Location, availability.

The people I would specifically name are no longer here, but the kitchen staff is great, and the front desk from Stacy Johnson, Jo, and Arianna are wonderful!

Friendliness of the staff. Verlinda was awesome and went beyond the call of duty to make sure our Father Carl to complete all the hurdles that were thrown in getting our Dad transferred. Really appreciate his room being set up on his arrival.

Discussion with staff was very helpful. They are knowledgeable & compassionate. The marketing staff make all the difference in one"s judgement of the facility & how it treats its residents. Mia is very, very helpful!

The staff was so friendly. The residents all seemed to be happy with the lifestyle there. The place was very clean. We were impressed that when we came in, there was a sign saying welcome Vivian. Made us very welcome.

The level of care that my family was shown as we had to get my father into a place quickly was top notch! We felt taken care of and our nerves were calmed. We feel that together as a family, we found the best place for Dad.

The friendly feeling everywhere. The quality senior seated exercise I saw. Karen's exceptionally thoughtful.information, suggestions , tour of possible living units available and understanding of our situation. Also possible incentives offered to make entrance more affordable for our retired educator friend. Also very affirming for staff at the Garden Terrace rehab facility to tell.us they would choose Gen Care at Steel Lake above any other facility.
