My car was in for a scheduled service. However on the morning of the service , I received a text informing me that would cost £240 despite me having a service plan. I was told by my service advisor Lewis that I didn’t have a service plan. I informed him I did. He told me that there was nothing on the system to confirm this. I asked him who his manager was, and was told Stephen Cane. I phoned Stephen and told him I was unhappy with this, but he said nothing on the system, and they would not do the service, until it was confirmed I had a service plan. To say I wasn’t happy was an understatement.. I then phoned back my service advisor Lewis, only to be told that I had to phone VW, to confirm with them that I had a service plan. Again I was unhappy about this, as I had the paperwork in front of me. However, I phoned VW, and after a 15 minute wait on the phone, VW told me that the service plan was in place , and my account was up to date. They also didn’t understand, why I was phoning them anyway. ??? I then called Lewis back, to be told that the service had in fact started, albeit 6 hours later than scheduled, despite being originally told that the service wouldn’t be done unless confirmed by VW. I called Stephen back, and he told me that Lewis shouldn’t have told me I didn’t have a service plan ???He als told me that my registration number had been recorded on the system incorrectly. This I found strange, as from initial booking, all correct documentation was in place including registration and service plan. Did somebody take it upon themselves to change my details ???All in all it was a bit of a farce, and very inconvenient to myself.

Initially, when I called for booking, the service advisor told me that there is no slot for several weeks which is a very poor service for user, especially when none of functions like radio, telephone, navigation etc. were working because of software glitch. It is only when I explained that I have to travel to London in two days that the service advisor arranged the booking for next morning which was very good of her to accommodate my needs. Unfortunately, I was not offered a courtesy car, although my car was in the workshop for two days for software update, although I did tell advisor that I work for NHS in a hospital and have to commute to my work, which gave me a lot of botheration!
