Needs better maintenance. Many sprinklers & water canons did not work in water park area. RC track was overgrown with grass, needed ice & they were out.

We had a great time, we have been coming here for years, even before it became Great Escapes North Texas. The park and pools were clean, friendly staff. Moving the food truck close to the Activity Center was a smart move. We ate there for the first time, the Funnel Cakes were delicious, tried a half and half…Powered Sugar and Cinnamon Sugar….delicious. Lydia in the food truck, makes a great burger.Safety: for everyone’s safety, everyone should observe the posted speed, there are people who enjoy walking in the park, riding bicycles, scooters etc.Safety suggestion: When riding at night, bicycles, scooters etc that doesn’t have lights: put some kind of light or glow sticks on the handle bars or spokes, so they can be seen, by walkers, vehicles and other riders.

Staff was very friendly. They were recruited to judge our family cook-off and did great. After checkout they called to tell us we left an item. They held on to it until we could return.

What to do for the kids

We have always enjoyed coming. Seems like the facility is becoming run down. My 10 year old said today based on the fact that not all your water features don't work this year that you have had in the past. He was disappointed.

Half of sprinklers & canons in water park area did not work.RC track was grown up with grass.Human foosball area was overgrown with grass.Water balloon game - balloons were too little to fill & kept breaking - couldn’t use it. Last time it had spouts to fill balloons.There was an advertisement in lobby for Mini Jeep rides. When I checked on those I was told they don’t work & need outside maintenance. When I spoke to manager, Teresa, she wasn’t aware they were broke. The advertisement sign remained up.Went to buy ice in the store - they were out. I was told it’s very hot & they ran out. It’s Texas - you know it’s hot when you place an order.I rented a golf cart - As instructed, I had it plugged in overnight, it did not charge. I still had 1/2 charge when taking it back & it died. I had to get a ride to office. The attendant said, “that’s the second one that’s done that today.”Overall maintenance on equipment & grounds was not good. Staff at front desk & Teresa didn’t seem helpful.If you’re going to charge a resort fee per person, you should have all resort activities working & maintained.

2 of the 3 pools were dirty. One had a ball of hair and and a large bandaid floating in it. The water at the splash pad was so dirty our kids swim suits turned brown and have permanent stains. The blue paint was also sticking to people. Half of the splash pad wasn’t working. All the kids could really use were the slides. Trash cans were over flowing and wind was blowing trash into the splash pad because it was overflowing. Staff member was more concerned about her phone that picking up trash. I would only recommend someone to stay here if they wanted to hang out at their RV like a state park but I would not recommend the splash pad or pools. The best part was our spot. If someone had been parked in front of us it would have been to tight but it was not that many campers so the spot was nice. Shade trees were great.

We’ve visited several years in a row. We’ve always loved the park & recommended it to our friends & family, but this year there were several things that were noticeably neglected & deteriorating. Several features of the water park were not functioning, advertised kids jeeps were not working, & the cabin decor was very dusty.

Experience was great for the kids. Park is lacking upkeep as multiple items were not working during time of visit. Would return if upkeep to pools and cars was completed.
