The young woman that checked us in (I apologize, but I don't remember her name) was very friendly & welcoming. The store is nice. There are a lot for children of all ages to do with multiple playgrounds ( one needed slide repairs) as well as fun activities throughout the day. The splash pad needs repainting ( it was even coming off on my grandsons clothes & feet), the spray toys at the splash pad were not working. That being said, my 6 & 2 year old grandsons still had a blast at the splash pad & asked if we could go back again sometime. This is definitely a place I will take them to if in the area again.

Very nice place to stay. Managers seem to be always working on upkeep and helping visitors with requests.

Great idea but expensive for what it is. We rented a cabin for 1 night, totaling $334.18. The beds were awfully uncomfortable and extremely noisy with any movement. The fridge was missing its light and there was no hand soap provided for washing your hands. It has a little AC on the wall but it was struggling, the room remained warmer to us the entire stay. The kids loved the splash pad and pools. We attempted to go play at the “beach” but decided against it when we got closer. They have a “cafe” but only offer pizza wings and maybe nachos if they’re not out. If we did this again we would pull our RV, that seems to be much cheaper than their cabins.

We have been there at least 5 times over the years and this past weekend was the best experience we’ve had lots of activities for the kids and the place was super clean.

Unfortunately, it was not a GREAT escape. I’ve been to this resort 12 times over several years. It has declined greatly in the time that Great Escapes has owned it. I’ve visited 3 times now since it’s been Great Escapes. I have a camping tribe that I bring with me when I camp. This time there were 5 of us RV families, plus a cabin family in tow with me. This has the most disheartening trip I’ve ever had at this resort location. Below are some comments and suggestions. Please call if you’d like more feedback (817)291-3080.👉🏻Check in - RV checkin/out times are not reasonable with 5 hours in between; Mitchell Park’s check out was at 2:00 pm so you could enjoy your morning not be rushed; for the price to camp paying for 2 days and only getting one full day doesn’t feel fair. This is not just a GE’s issue, it’s a large chain issue.👉🏻Checking in was disorganized, seemed like only one person knew things and that they were being stretched, which isn’t fair to that person - GE’s needs better employee training/orientation.👉🏻Putt Putt - The course is in disrepair (carpet coming up, brush/trees growing up in rock areas, dead trees/limbs, bricks not aligned, waterfall not going, flamingos and decor gone) and club/ball attainment process needs to be moved back to the building near the course.👉🏻Activity Center - golf club check out process not enforced, 2 girls offered no help - there was no sign out sheet, only small clubs available, no pencils for scoring - needs to be relocated near the course.👉🏻Picnic tables - at our site there were only 2 tables for 5 camp sites, both were dilapidated, ours had holes in it. Every site should have one.👉🏻Sites - not marked well (014 only has a 1 on it and it was not clearly marked as to what was a site and what was the road, rock size on pad were dangerous for ankles, needs smaller gravel, trash can was full upon arrival and no emptying at site 014 Friday, Saturday, or by 11 am Sunday.👉🏻Sound - there was a high pitch sound at night. Not sure what it was but it lasted about an hour and kept me from sleeping.👉🏻Kiddie spray area - half the things weren’t working. None of the sprayer/water cannons worked on the water park, paint and sealant was coming up and floating in the water. This can be toxic/dangerous especially for kiddos which it was designed for. Our group only went over to it once because of the disrepair. We had a 6 month old we wanted to get pictures on in it but didn’t because of things floating around in it.👉🏻Pool area - I couldn’t find pool hours published on any checkin information or the website. There were a stack of broken chairs, no light in restroom, and only one faucet working at the sink in the restroom. You might rethink reinstating the adult only pool since there are 3 pools, 2 for swimming. There were lots of little ones having fun splashing and jumping in causing most adults to exit the pools.👉🏻Outdoors - mosquitos were bad this time, not sure why or if you can do anything about that. Burrs were bad on the row we were on. Again, the rocks at site were too large, need gravel. Trash cans in our area were not dumped regularly.👉🏻Bathroom - poor one coat paint job with streaks, paint droppings on floor and toilet paper holder leaves a bad impression for guests.👉🏻Showers - FYI… rubber grates in showers hurt feet.👉🏻WIBIT - The charge is too high. It shouldn’t be more than $10, preferably $5 since it’s a timed entry. If we have to pay for it, especially $15, it should be for the whole day. Ideally, it should be included in the daily price or an option for a visit pass for purchase.👉🏻Volleyball Net - In disrepair.Suggestions for Added Value:👉🏻Pickleball & Basketball Ball Courts - could be added where golf course used to be.👉🏻Basketball Pad - Needs to be rebuilt (see above) so it’s larger and flat, not raised. It would be nice to have ball containment borders if you rebuild it (back it net end up to the pickleball divider wall).👉🏻Schedules - Add a speaker system for announcements/safety instructions during evacuations/bad weather. Post schedules around activity areas noting times for various events (hay ride, activities, etc) and they could be announced 15 minutes before as well if there was a PA system.
