1) Hare Honda service techs are excellent and the service is always top notch. They are trained to use vehicle inspections and routine maintenance visits as opportunities to find and report additional existing issues that require immediate attention, and point out potential issues that will need attention soon. Then they document the items with photos, and send a message/email detailing the recommended repairs and applicable factory replacement items. Some would see it as a service department attempting to pad the repair order. I DO appreciate a full disclosure of what is needed now, and what will be needed soon, even though the dealership prices for repairs including shop labor and factory replacement parts are often a shock to my wallet. 2) Unfortunately, the service writers do not routinely ask owners AT CHECK-IN about existing warranties that could apply to maintenance and repairs: Original 'factory' and 'bumper-to-bumper', Certified Pre-Owned, or Extended warranty contracts. It would save time at payment and check-out if existing warranty coverages were already applied, and a 'final' bill was immediately available, instead of having to take a few moments to check, then deduct, and re-print all the paperwork. Example: Had I not asked at payment and check-out about CPO coverage to replace a leaking intermediate shaft seal and bearing under the powertrain coverage (until 100,000 miles/January 9, 2023) for my Certified-Pre-Owned 2016 Honda HR-V AWD purchased elsewhere in 2018, I would have paid an additional $500 out-of-pocket. Once I asked, my service advisor immediately checked, and in a short time, he confirmed that both parts and repair labor were indeed covered, and the covered charges were removed from my bill. 3) The online links to schedule vehicle service, and the response system COULD provide service writers with full details and allow fast check-in, but in-fact, they are incredibly unhelpful. The online screens fail to ask about my vehicle VIN, year, make, model, trim level, and other requested repairs than the one (Coupon offer) I selected. Other than pasting-in text, it doesn't provide a way to list vehicle details or additional services requested. So my service visit confirmation email show that my vehicle is a 2021 OTHER, and 'Drop Off' is the unchangeable default. I DID paste in a message with vehicle VIN, year, make, model, , and ALL the desired services. Based upon my experience from previous visits, apparently the service writers are unable to easily access my notes in the online scheduling system, I also provide a printed copy of the message to the service writer at check-in. Scheduling service using the Hondalink phone app MIGHT be better, but because I drive only a few thousand miles per year, I rarely schedule more than one service visit per year, so I don't use waste storage space on my phone with the Hondalink app.
