As a person who has worked in the service industry I always go into repairs on my vehicle with an open mind. I noticed that there was an rpm drop when putting my ac or defroster on. We had those super hot days and it was rough, so I set up an appt. I had Brian as a service advisor. He came out listened to the car after I showed him the issue and I left for work. I got a call later indicating it was the belt tensioner. I trusted that since they had the RO and had professionals diagnosing my car that it was all good. I go pick my car up and it’s still happening. I’m a little irritated because it’s not fixed and I just paid 800$ for the repair. However my bigger issue was when I went back in and said it’s still doing it, Brian’s immediate response was “no it’s not.” The gaslighting was unnecessary, so I told him come outside and listen. He then told me that wasn’t the concern I brought it in for and it seems like a bigger issue. Well I definitely know that I put that concern in the RO and I double checked (and the noise did come back). Told me to leave the car running for the tech and I said are you sure knowing it was stalling out. He said yes. He put my in a loaner which I actually am super appreciative of. And then called to say funny thing happened your ac compressor seized and smoked and then the car died. That isn’t funny to me. But okay. Then he went into what was going to happen he was going to not charge labor give me the cost of the part (tensioner) back etc. once again okay but I’m still paying 700$ more than I expected after a misdiagnosis. I don’t have a choice this is my family’s car. I had him explain it a couple times because I’m annoyed and he asked me to get a pen and paper and write it down…. All this to say. Don’t gaslight women when they come to your establishment for repairs. Have some empathy for a shitty situation that was not caused by me. Don’t treat me like I am stupid and need to write things down just because I didn’t appreciate the news you gave me. You don’t know what people go through and it is no wonder people question going to the dealer.
