My ac quit working so I called HomeServe in the morning and gave a bit of information and a service technician was out a few hours later and I was back to a cool house same day. Easy as pie! The responses and communication were timely and they kept me well informed!

To be very fair, HomeServe was very responsive in working with area HVAC contractors who set up prompt service calls. Each of the two HVAC technicians were professional. However, to my utter dismay, I find that the Premium Heating & Cooling Repair Terms and Conditions are wholly insufficient, affording less than 5-10% towards replacement costs. That completely defies the purpose of having premium coverage. I accept my responsibility as a consumer for not catching that serious flaw in coverage. I suspect this could be why HomeServe clients cancel this particular insurance when faced with a similar situation, especially when they have carried the coverage for years fully expecting "premium" protection.

I had an issue with my AC leaking. Called to get an appointment scheduled, no on ever called me back. Called the next day and was told that an email and phone call was sent to the technician and was told that someone would contact me soon. Still no response from a technician. Eventually I had someone come out to look at the AC and 450.00 later, I had cool air and it was all due to a stopped up drain. Tried to get reimbursed and was told that because Homeserve do not unstop drains, I would only be offered 50.00. Had I received a call initially, I would not be out of pocket as much. I don’t understand why is it that I’m paying each month for services that I can’t even get a call back from. This is unacceptable and ridiculous. It’s very unfair to me as it is close to 100• here in Alabama. I sent in my paid invoice and was told I could not be reimbursed. I would not mind the payment if I had at least gotten some communication from the company. My payments are on time each month but when I’m in dire need, no communication is given. UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Upon arrival the technician did his review. Water was turned on throughout the house, I informed him that when Home Doctor the plumbing company had place a camera and said I had a lot of rust and a Crack. Your technician said that "nothing was showing so it was NOTHING he could do."

The Call, the fast response was excellent. However, the insurance contract was not honored by HomeServe. Your contractor Stott Plumbing did a fantastic job. The dissatisfaction was you did not honor the terms of the contract. You took the cost of your contractor to replace the water heater and installation cost, then tacked on $1,000 making it look like a good deal ($1,980) than you deducted the insurance deductible of $1,000, so I ended up paying $980. NOT GOOD BUSINESS. I should not have to pay anything, because the total replacement was under $1,000. I did check on the gas water heater and that model from a plumbing supply store was $729, the contractor would have had to pay less, the balance of $251 would have been the installation cost of any plumbing company (I checked with local plumbing companies, therefor, you inflated the cost so you wouldn't have to pay anything, which you should have paid your contractor for the installation, due to the fact that it was under $1,000. Very displeased with HomeServe. Mark
