Called two days in a row now and still we have not received a call from a technician to let is k iw when they will be able to fix our heater. We have been without heat for two days and the outside temos are in the low 50s and will be in the low 40s tonight.

This rating has nothing to do with our contractors---I would give the contractors that came to our house 5 STARS! This 2-Star rating is for the HomeServe company itself. First of all, it took about 5+ days for your company to "find" someone to come--which left us unable to do laundry or dishes. It also took 3 calls from my husband! There was no communication or updates from your company unless WE called!!! The other reason this is a 2-star is because your company sent workers from over 100 miles away to do this job, rather than contacting someone locally. It makes us wonder why no local contractors will work for you--and it makes us wonder why we even have coverage with Homeserve because it feels like we don't really have coverage. This also means that you probably paid 3 times the cost for this small fix! We don't think that is a good (wise) business model. We felt terrible for the contractors that came, as they had to come and "take pictures, submit to Homeserve and wait around town for over 2 hours for approval to actually do the work!!" They traveled so far just to come and waste the time. Also, I am sure that HomeServe was charged for ALL of this time and travel--it just doesn't even make practical sense. I probably would give HomeServe a 1-star rating.
