When I called to request service I asked specifically if the part was covered. We knew exactly what needed to get done. I was told it is covered. But when the plumber arrived he said it is not. So now I lost a service call.

This is what I documented during the ordeal:HOMESERVE SAGAWednesday evening (11/2/2022) we were notified via text from the City of Columbia that we had awater leak, based upon data from the water meter. It had started on 11/1/2022 but we were notnotified until 24 hours later. I called the Water Dept. and within an hour the City sent someoneout who confirmed the leak was on the house side of the meter, within the proximal foot or so. Icalled Homeserve whom we had a service arrangement (recommended by the City of ColumbiaWater Department) and only got a recording to call back during business hours. The followingmorning I called Homeserve to report the leak and was told the next available service would beSaturday (11/5/2022). Someone from McAtee Plumbing arrived Saturday morning and told mehe was not strong enough to undo the large brass coupling from the meter and would needadditional help which would not be available until Monday (11/7/2022). He did a bandaid repairusing a radiator hose pipe and radiator clamps to allow us to have water. That repair lastedabout 2 hours. I was then notified by McAtee Plumbing that they could not send out amultiperson team until Wednesday (11/9/2022). Keep in mind that the leak is spilling about 8000gallons/day. After the bandaid repair the water loss increased to 12,500 gallons/day!!!! Icomplained to Homeserve that this was not a tolerable situation and they said they would lookinto it. I later received a call from Homeserve and was told that based upon the information theyreceived from the McAfee plumber, the leak was between the City Water meter for the entire CityClub and the meter for my house, and Homeserve was not responsible and I should contact theHOA. I believe this was an erroneous assumption by the plumber when he saw the leak in the 2”line exiting the water meter. I explained there was only a single water meter and the leak wasbetween the meter and my house. The person I spoke with said that was impossible because thehouse could not accept the pressure in a 2” line. I asked for a different company to come andevaluate the situation. So then I get a call from Wright Way Plumbing in Sumter saying theywould come out Wednesday (11/9/2022). Again I called Homeserve and said this wasunacceptable. I then received an email from Homeserve that someone from Aero Services inColumbia would come out Monday 11/07/2022.OK the guy from Aero Services showed up today (11/7) and tried to repair the leak. Aftermultiple tries and revisions over a 8 hour time frame, he called in reinforcements and anotherstrategy was attempted at 6 pm. I asked if we needed to check in to a motel, as we had no waterand were in need of toilet flushes etc. At 7:16 we are still without water and do not know what isgoing on. 7:30pm finally finished and water back on.Next day (11/8): Noticed woman going around property marking utility lines. When asked whatshe was doing, she said she was from 811 to mark utilities, per HOMESERVE request. I told herthe dig had already been done. She said she only got the ticket today. So now our street andmulch has assorted color lines that are totally irrelevant to where the dig took place. When I firstspoke with Homeserve, they said 811 had to mark before digging, I explained that there were noutilities in the proximity of the water meter, but they wouldn't listen.BTWThere was a leak between the meter and the house back in April 2022 (before we had aHomeserve policy. I called Meetze plumbing and it was repaired within hours. It cost $758, butin retrospect, it may have been the better deal.

My water heater needs replacement! Plummer went did inspection and determined i need it a new one. He was going to charge me additional $599 out of pocket plus the $1100 cover from the insurance. Even though i found a cheaper one for much less. Insurance said the i had to do it with the one that was charging me out of pocket $599. I still have not fix my water heater!!!

My mother is disabled, has parkinsons, and dementia. Her AC went out and I contacted Homeserve. Homeserve was fast and courteous with our needs. We called late in the evening and immediately got our situation submitted and an AC tech came out the following day. Osage Air was sent to our residence and they were very courteous and professional and got the situation resolved in about an hour and had us back up running. Homeserve covered all the expenses without any issue.

The plumb was on time, quickly diagnosed the problem and finished the job. During the work they explained what they were doing. Additionally, pointed out what was the problem. They were excellent! I will use them if I have another problems. I’m confident with their fix.
