The hospital internet needs a lot of help , it's always freezing and very slow when doing checks. It's been an ongoing situation

We should revisit the era where patient towels were kept or wrap in tight sealed plastics preventing them to gather dust.

The dedication is lacking in the current culture to work and do the best that they can do. It seems to me that the current culture is to the bare minimum required sometimes below the bare minimum not to get fired. The only solution I see to this is to make clear the expectations and then consistently hold people accountable including terminating poor preforming people as an example no matter what their job is.I also see the rapid turnover rate of new hires specifically the nurses. I think this job is a difficult one for many people. It sometimes seems more like a calling than a job. I feel that many new hires are not adequately prepared for the kinds of things that they will face. This is not your usual nursing job and sugar coating or shielding them from the ugly parts of the job in order for them to accept the job is not helpful. It ends up costing the company in the long run for all the wasted time and money to get them oriented and vetted only to have them say no I don't think this is for me. Would it be possible to have a shadow day for the prospective new people? That way they can decide for themselves if this is something that they would like to pursue. Another option for this is to welcome students from local schools to intern here. It might give a good picture of what this type of care entails and you may get more interest. It would be more work to start someone from scratch right out of school however you would not need to break them of bad habits and be able to train them on exactly what is expected from the beginning.Training is another area that we need to be sure we are covering appropriately. I have seen in some cases of brand new orientees being trained by nurses that have only been working here for a few weeks or worse being trained by our seasoned but consistently poor performers who then pass on their bad habits to the new people. This only perpetuates the poor culture and poor performance overall.Intake department needs to be strengthened. If a few key people are out for some reason the whole department tends to get disorganized and then fall apart completely. This is a major problem for many reasons. If the intake department does not get the patients started appropriately, it not only sets the wrong tone and the wrong expectations for the patient, It also means the rest of the departments in the hospital are doing nothing but clean-up for the rest of the stay. It puts everyone behind to do things that should have been handled by intake and then their own responsibilities as well. It gives a poor impression to the patient which can translate into poor reviews after discharge on social media and post discharge surveys and that lowers the star rating and our reputation as a whole in the community. First impressions are hard to change further into the stay. The last and perhaps the most important consequence of having a weak and inefficient intake department is that they potentially accept patients that we are not equipped to handle or ones that will cost us more money to handle than we will get back from the insurance. If we accept a patient, then have to send them back out or refuse them at the door for whatever reason hurts our bottom line and our reputation as a whole in the community. Accepting a patient who we are unable to care for opens us up to liability as well. I understand we need to get people in the door, but it needs to be the patients that we can handle not ones that are going to cost us in the long run. This can be handled by an efficient intake department.
