I found plastic in my tuna sandwich. I was denied seeing a doctor for over a week, and had issues with my medications because of it. The clinicians are AMAZING but there needs to be changes within the upper authority process because I was advocating for my needs over a week before being “heard” by my doctors. yes more color and positive energy. I should be able to hang a picture my client made for me. I should be able to write on the board for group as people learn in many different ways, being able to visualize what you're working on helps engrave the information in the brain. yellow and burnt orange do not bring peace and tranquility, the females loved looking at all the pictures and thank you cards on the wall, not they report office walls look like a jail cell. Its also concerned maintenance if focused on a picture on the wall but not the thousands of wires tangled and in the open. Make that make since.Polices and procedures need to be in place so when new staff (temp staff )work on the unit, they automatically know what to do and they are not relying on new staff to train them, that causes burn out for your old staff

More staff to balance out the workload so we can give more individual time to patients or group prepA medical specialist just for OP, who can always be available to answer questions or get to clients needsMost importantly, more of a say in the things that directly effect our staff and department. Like when they tried to throw teens at us without warning or time to prep a group room for them. I know numbers are important, but with the staff numbers we have now, it would not be sustainable, especially if one of us gets sick or has the day off, then the whole system falls apart simply because one staff person called out sick.I see the potential OP has. I think we have a good staff and it can grow. However, I feel like it is not understood that we need to build sustainability before expanding beyond what we are currently able to do with the staff we have, like throwing teens at us when we definitely are not capable of running that with how things are now. If we keep getting forced into a certain direction we don't fit into yet, we are going to feel over worked and stress, which leads to burn out, which leads to unhappy employees, which leads to us not doing the best we can for clients. At the very least, I feel like all the OP staff need to be more present when these kind of choices get made, so the people actually doing the work can have our voices heard.

do not accept patients with acute medical issues. we do not have an attached ER or medical floors for immediate medical interventions plus we do not have adequate medically trained lpns/rns

There has been this plan that each unit is supposed to have two therapists. But over the years this has never been fulfilled. There have been times when units have shared a therapist. But there are no worries as long as the beds are full..
