Giving floors enough staff and not cancelling people last minute based on money

I also think the hospital could benefit from better communication and organization regarding processes and responsibilities, for example, having clearer structure around who is responsible for each step, who approves decisions, and what the workflow should look like afterward. Better collaboration between employees overall would also help create a smoother and more efficient work environment. Even though I do not work directly in the units, I have noticed that staff members sometimes try to pass responsibilities to one another instead of taking ownership of tasks. Because of this, I think roles and responsibilities should be more clearly defined for each person so that processes can run more smoothly and efficiently. One additional area that I believe is important to focus on is patient interaction and customer service. At times, some staff members can come across as rude or impatient with patients. Working in a hospital requires patience, compassion, and genuine care for people, especially since patients are often going through difficult moments in their lives.I believe employees should approach patients with more empathy and kindness and not view this as just a job or simply a paycheck. Creating a more compassionate and supportive environment can make a significant difference in the patient experience and in the overall reputation of the hospital.

Staffing and pay

Staffing, a lot of favoritism, no clear communication, no motivation especially on MHTS

45 minutes for meals. This would allow a full 30 minutes to eat. It takes time to transition and wait in the line for the meal, soup, salad bar.Have actual security guards that continuously round.Have belongings personnel just for belongings and phone use if needed. There is always a lot of unhappiness with patients regarding their belongings.Have intake send the patient up with a hoodie/sweater and their shoes (lace free) so they are warm and comfortable and able to enjoy fresh air right away.REALLY stop air pod use. Today a caseworker walked around with airpods in. This person stood behind the nursing station and didn’t even acknowledge a patient that was looking to get her attention. She did however take one out for her group.Alexa’s. Always broken, not charged properly or borrowed on another unit. Maybe they could be placed in a safe container similar to the tv, so they are safe and always charged and accessible. Possibly comfort rooms, day rooms, fresh air areas?More access to books for patients. Some patients truly have nothing, maybe a designated area for employees to put donations for a patient in need.

Communication. Other departments don't know what the other ones are doing.Safety - Enough staff to secure a safe environment for patients and employees.
