Yogi Bear Cabin 4; Mark Twain Jellystone; July 3–7, 2026. This campground has so much potential with all of the family amenities. Unfortunately, Yogi Bear Cabin #4 was in unacceptable & disgusting condition when we arrivedYogi Bear Cabin 4Cons* Cabin was extremely dirty & hot upon arrival.* Floors, walls, cabinets, countertops, appliances, refrigerator, kitchen items, and utensils all had to be cleaned (by us) before we could unpack and use our cabin.* Dried food was stuck on pots and utensils.* Trash and crumbs were inside the cabinets.* Mouse urine, droppings, and thick black grime were inside the refrigerator* Black mold was present throughout the cabin, including:* Strong mold odor and a lot of visible mold under the kitchen sink.* Mold in cracks around the bathroom walls.* A large 2 ft. x 2 ft. patch of black mold on the bathroom wall behind the bathroom door.* Heavy black grime along the baseboards.* Walls throughout the cabin were dirty.* Peeling and missing paint in the hallway and living room.* Both adults (ourselves) spent approximately 3½ hours deep cleaning before the small cabin was even usable.* The screened porch was covered in sticks, leaves, cobwebs, and spiders and had to be cleaned (by ourselves) before we could use it.* Spiders constantly came from the walls, ceilings, and non-working floor A/C vents. Several appeared to be brown recluse spiders. We eventually closed the not working floor vents to keep spiders from continually coming inside.* The cabin clearly had not been properly cleaned or maintained in months, or longer, before our arrival.* Floors were covered in dirt and black grime and looked like they hadn't been swept or mopped in months or longer. Had to sweep them myself* Cobwebs/spiders were everywhere* Kitchen counters were filthy* Toilet was dirtyPros* After we deep cleaned everything ourselves, the refrigerator, freezer, microwave, oven, sinks, shower, and toilet all functioned properlyMaintenance Cons* Window A/C barely worked; no real AC in cabin* Cabin was 79° inside when we arrived even though the thermostat was set to 61°* Hallway cabin light bulb was burned out* Outside stair light was burned out* Rusted charcoal grill was completely unusable, so we couldn't BBQ our dinners the entire stay* Propane tank ran out during our stay, leaving us without hot water* Missing skirting around the cabin exposed sewage runoff under and running out of our cabin* Sewer runoff was leaking to the fire pit and picnic table by our cabin* Area around the cabin was mud, rocks, and weeds with almost no grass* Fire pit sits on a hill, making camping chair seating awkward and unsafe* Shared narrow driveway parking made the cabin area feel overly crowded* There was no grassy area for kids to play outside our cabin. We really only had the driveway which was shared and full of parked vehicles by close neighboring cabins so we really couldn’t enjoy any of the outside area* Cabin wasn't cleaned or stocked properly, light bulbs were never replaced, the AC never worked well, and there were spiders, filth, and mold everywherePros* Maintenance responded quickly after the propane ran out, although only because we happened to speak directly with a maintenance employee who was already working at the neighboring cabin.* The window A/C units eventually cooled the cabin after several days once the outside temps dropped. Missing Supplies Upon Arrival* No broom* No bathroom hand soap* No kitchen dish towels* Dish soap was almost empty* No extra trash bags* Dirty futon* Dirty kitchen appliances* Burned-out light bulbs* Dirty cabin inside and outThankfully, I brought Lysol, disinfectants, fans, our own bedding, and pillowsDuring Our Stay We Had to Request* Dish sponge* More dish soap* Bathroom hand soap* Trash bags* Towels and paper towels* Broom* Kitchen towels* Replacement propane tank* Replacement light bulbs* Air conditioning repair* Front desk staff said cabin guests are always complaining* Our entire $1,050 reservation was refunded after we spoke to the manager about our cabin* Resort severely understaffed* We only saw two maintenance workers servicing the entire campground resort and water park* Housekeeping is not being done, or done well, in cabins. Few maintenance men struggle to maintain the full resort and waterparkCampground ActivitiesPros* Campground pool was clean but had laundry water run off pouring on to pool deck* Jumping pillow was fun, although there were tons of hornets and a huge hornet nest nearby it in the ground.* Nice newer playground near the Ranger Smith cabins.* Camp stores had lots of gifts and souvenirs.* Mini golf was fun. (When there were golf balls)* Activity center offered tie-dye, ceramic painting, crafts, and daily free snacks.* Mining sluice was a huge hit with our kids. Bags cost around $10–12+ and contained great rocks. The water was turned off, so we had to turn it on ourselves since no staff were working there. Typical for this place.* Plenty of family activities throughout the campground.Cons* Mini golf needs landscaping maintenance, including trimming trees and bushes.* Golf balls weren't always available.* Clubs and balls were scattered everywhere.* No staff appeared to supervise or clean the course the entire stay.Grounds & LakesPros* Upper lake near the Ranger Smith cabins was much prettier* Paddle boat rentals were available there.* RV sites near the pool, camp store, water park, and upper lake appeared much nicer and better maintained.Cons* Lower lake near the Yogi Bear cabins was dirty, smelled unpleasant, and was poorly maintained. It was a huge eyesore.* excessive Goose droppings completely covered many picnic shelters near the nicer upper lake, making several unusable.Nearby AttractionsPros* Mark Twain Lake (Spalding Beach) was beautiful and only a few minutes away, with great sand, swimming, and clean restrooms.* Hannibal was only about 30 minutes away.* Fourth of July carnival and fireworks in Hannibal were fantastic.* Overall, this resort is in a great location.ValueCons* We paid over $1,050 for a cabin that was filthy, moldy, hot, poorly maintained, and missing basic supplies.* We spent the first evening cleaning for hours instead of enjoying our vacation.* We repeatedly had to contact maintenance for supplies and repairs.Pros* Management voluntarily refunded our entire stay, giving us a free vacation while still allowing us to enjoy all of the amenities.* After cleaning the cabin ourselves and once temperatures cooled down, we were able to enjoy the remainder of our trip despite still dealing with mold, spiders, burned-out lights, barely functioning A/C, and an unusable grill and outdoor area.Water Zone Water ParkPros* Our kids (ages 8 & 13) loved it.* Wave pool was fun.* Lazy river was enjoyable.* Five of six water slides were operating.* Toddler splash area was popular.* Ice cream shop had a good selection* Strawberry vodka frozen drinks from the Tiki Bar were delicious* Daily $2 duck races were a fun activity* One toddler splash pad and equipment working goodCons* Water park shows its age.* One pool (with black slide) was cloudy, green, and smelled strongly of urine* Bathroom floors were extremely dirty.* One restroom stall was missing its door.* Lockers were blocked off/unuseable* Floating grass in the lazy river.* Appeared to have way too few lifeguards at every amenity, some weren’t staffed with a lifeguard at all* One purple slide and one toddler area was closed and not working⚠️ Safety ConcernI suffered a concussion after very powerful waves flipped me backwards off an inner tube onto the concrete bottom of the wave pool. I developed unequal pupils, had head swelling, and continue to have head pain and swelling. Luckily, I’m okay and back home recovering from my head injury. My advice: Stand/float completely inside the tube with your legs through the center—don’t sit with your bottom inside of the tube. Lifeguards did not even see my injury or know about it. There aren’t enough lifeguards. Watch yourselves and your children going into the wave pool and slides bc lifeguards aren’t at the bottom of slides and only on the 4th did they have two lifeguards at the wave pool, other days only 1 lifeguard watching a giant wave pool with extremely strong waves. No lifeguards at toddler area, lazy river, or bottoms of any slides other than the toilet bowl slide. Lifeguards at tops of slides cannot see people come out the bottom of slides. Need more lifeguards for their waterpark forsure! My RecommendationsI Would Recommend* RV sites in the upper campground.* Ranger Smith cabins (although I'd still bring your own bedding, pillows, fans and cleaning supplies just in case).* Campground pool.* Water park.* Activity center.* Mining sluice.* Mini golf (bring your own golf balls)* Camp stores.* Nearby Mark Twain Lake.* Hannibal carnival and fireworks during the Fourth of July.I Would Not Recommend* Yogi Bear Cabin #4.* Yogi Bear cabins in general.* Staying near the yogi bear cabins/lower lake.* Renting a cabin without bringing your own cleaning supplies (especially Lysol and bleach), bedding, pillows, fans, towels and extra household essentials. This review truly reflects how our vacation felt—full of both pros and cons.We refused to let the condition of our cabin ruin the family vacation and holiday weekend we had planned for months. After spending hours cleaning it ourselves, we still made wonderful memories thanks to the pools, water park, family activities, nearby attractions, and kind, but very limited, staff. This campground has incredible potential. With better housekeeping, additional maintenance staff, cleaner cabins and restrooms, improved upkeep of the older cabins and lower lake, more lifeguards, and someone assigned to maintain the mini golf course, this could easily become one of the best family campgrounds in the area.I sincerely hope management continues making improvements because the location and family amenities are fantastic with potential but they’re not being well kept for the cost to come.I hope this review helps other families choose the best accommodations and come prepared for an older resort with high prices, neglected amenities, and very dirty hot gross cabins. If you visit, be especially careful in the wave pool to avoid the type of concussion I experienced. Bring your own cleaning supplies, towels, linens, pillows, bedding, fans and even golf balls for mini golf. Be prepared for cabin maintenance issues and an older resort that appears significantly understaffed and unkept.Despite the maintenance issues, filthy hot cabin, mold, spiders, dirty water park bathrooms, and my head injury/concussion, we still had a wonderful time with our 8- and 13-year-olds. The pools, water park, mini golf, rock mining, jump pillow, stores, activity center, ice cream shop, nearby Mark Twain Lake, and Hannibal gave us plenty to enjoy.Had our cabin been clean, stocked and properly maintained, I honestly would have rated this place much higher. My biggest complaint remains the filthy, hot cabin that was full of dirt, spiders, sewage leak and black mold. Even with my concussion, we still enjoyed our weekend, which says a lot about how much there is to do here. It’s just not well kept…Corporate, ownership, management, housekeeping, and maintenance have a lot of work ahead of them to bring this resort up to the prices they're charging. The manager repeatedly apologized for the condition of our cabin and issued a full refund after hearing everything we experienced. The refund was processed by Sunday, leaving us paying only about $20.34 in taxes or fees. For around $20 out of pocket, the water park and mini golf alone made the trip worthwhile. However, because of the neglected amenities, staffing shortages, and filthy cabin, I'm not sure we'd return. If we choose another Jellystone in the future, we'd probably try the Pittsfield, IL location instead. One final observation: while driving through the campground, it appeared that most all cabins had broken central A/C units and were relying on window units. Based on our experience, I suspect many of the cabins may have similar cleanliness, maintenance, and cooling issues. As well as, many cabins use propane tanks for hot water so you’re likely to run out of hot water in your cabin like we did. Our bbq pit was broken so yours may be as well. It’s older and not well kept.Overall, we had a very fun family vacation with our children despite the many problems because we were determined to not let it ruin our holiday family weekend. I truly hope improvements are made because this campground has the potential to be something special. An RV, if you have it, would be your very best bet if you want to try this resort. And again, be SO careful at the wave pool bc the waves will cause you to push towards the shallow part of the pool and will flip you if you’re sitting on top of the tube-avoid getting a concussion like I did, and be your kids lifeguards, bc there aren’t any or enough, and watch out for the hornets near the bouncing pillow! And don’t forget if you get a cabin bring everything yourself and be prepared to clean it yourself for hours. We even had to use our own multi tool to tighten loose pot handles in the kitchen. Just overall, severely unkept and understaffed resort and amenities, high costs and an older resort. I’d have been super unhappy had we paid the original cost of $1,050 for what we got! For $20 it’s forsure worth it… the only true saving grace. Our kids did have fun but we are thrilled to be home in AC and out of the moldly hot nasty cabin! And my head is still so swollen and hurts so much from the concussion I got in their wave pool. And I didn’t at all enjoy deep cleaning our own cabin during vacation or having to hunt down golf balls to play putt putt. Nor having to complain or ask for things and help with our terrible cabin. But, if you have your own RV it’d be worth it if you’re okay with older and overall unkept and unstaffed amenities and paying a larger price for amenities that just need a lot more staff, maintenance and cleaning…. Not great to walk or drive the camp either as there are huge pot holes. There’s good, but alot of not great! Or as teens would say mid. Adults would say hire more maintenance workers, life guards and cleaners! If changes aren’t made here they’ll likely go under soon. Sad. People paying this much expect a lot more than they’re getting, especially in the yogi bear cabins. Avoid the yogi bear cabins entirely. And just know you’re getting mostly unkept and unstaffed amenities overall. I don’t expect management to offer anything to us further as they already refunded our entire stay, however families should be aware of what they’re paying vs. will be getting here before booking. Truly, had the cabin been better, I would say it’s worth it, but I’m a sucker for my kids doing all the fun stuff and there was so much to do here. We don’t need the entire resort brand new, but upgrades, maintenance, and cleanliness go a LONG way to keep guests happy and coming back. It could’ve been worth the initial costs, but bc it was such a horrible cabin, then everything being short staffed and half maintained, just would never be worth the costs of the resort this weekend. Go see it for ourselves, just avoid those yogi bear cabins. Lots of family fun can for sure be had here! Highly recommend your own RV to come here!!!!!!!!!!! Or stay at their nicest and newest cabins-the ranger smith. But read reviews of those bc I hear they’re sadly not kept clean or maintained as well either, most of those even run on window units and propane tanks…. It’s just a real shame overall bc the whole camp and waterpark could be phenomenal if owners, management and corporate took care of it so much better, and hire WAY more workers. The only way we would likely ever come back here for a family trip is with our own RV, if we buy one. Don’t have one currently. So won’t be back anytime soon as cabins are just terrible. Especially the yogi bear cabins. Just terrible! Even RVs near the yogi cabins are dumpy and unkept. Even the pond back there. Just gets worse and worse the further into the back you go. Stay up towards the front of camp near camp store, activities, pool, upper nice lake and waterpark for any lodging here.

No oven not advertised as such. Had to move . Had 5 kids , 2 adults. Cramped !!! Place does not sleep 4 let alone 8! Toilets didn’t work. Had ants and flies. . Beds and mattresses terrible. Everything in disrepair. Air conditioning quit working . Kitchen had not even basic supplies. Had to visit office at least 10 times to get basics as we needed them. No curtains on windows so gets very hot in loft and can’t sleep after day break. Nothing went right. Was supposed to be a fun time with our grandchildren. Had to leave a day early just had enough. Sorry. Want to say good things but it had potential to be fun and great it just needs major updates and repairs. The cabins ranger smith need bulldozing. Does not seem to be staffed properly either to keep grounds nice and tidy.

Tent campsite bathroom only had one bathroom open and it was the family restroom with wobbly toilets and the restroom light was broken and not on, a not so bright light was in the bathroom but I have a fear of bathrooms already stemming from childhood and don’t like dark bathrooms. We were at campsite 4 and the fire ring looked to be embedded into the ground. Glad I brought a grate to cook over with my cast iron skillet.I decided to hammock camp between 4 trees and something fell on me… I couldn’t find anything after jumping out of my hammock yelling loudly “Oh Shit!” Because it scared the jebuzuz outta me!Something was jumping from tree to tree and it was a flying squirrel and I watched it for a bit… got sleepy again finally then the flying squirrel barked at me every time I fell asleep. It was pissed I was in his trees. After trying to sleep until 3:30am I gave up and slept in the truck. It’s cool we have flying squirrels but I didn’t know they were territorial lol.More clearer pricing would have been a plus then I could have planned better.

We made the most of our trip, but were a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the cabin, and the pool area and bathrooms.
