My experience with Kennesaw Volkswagen dealership is that they treat customers fairly and is willing to help out in anyway they can. So far, I am a satisfied consumer.

I brought my car in for service without an appointment on a Saturday morning to have a tail light fixed. They looked at it and 30 to 40 minutes later told me it had been repaired. Upon testing it before leaving the dealership the problem still existed. I was told to make an appointment and come back again as they did not have time to repair it that day. So a waste of time that day.

Our experience in the sales process was excellent and we drove from Newnan past other Volkswagen dealers to get to your location. We had found the car, color and options we had wanted online, confirmed the car was there and made a time to come by to see it. What we liked most about the sales experience is not being handed off to several people during our visit, we are not fans of the TO system having been a former car salesman and manager myself early in my career. We felt the price that was advertised was a very good deal and the sales person we worked with handled every thing very well. The F&I process also was very smooth and we were offered a lot of options and given good suggestions to fit our needs. We were actually able to complete the entire process of showing up to driving off with approved financing in about 3 hours which we consider to be very good. Our experience with the Service Department on the following day was rather a disappointment given our solid experience with the sales team the day prior. The following morning we awoke to a flat left rear tire and made contact with our sales person. We were asked to either have the car towed in or drive it on the spare but the distance did not make sense for either. I took the tire off, found where we have picked up a nail or bolt and took a photo with my phone and sent it to our sales person. I then drove on the following day an hour plus up to the dealership to see what could be done. When I met the service counselor he know I was coming but did not have details on the problem. I explained that we have just bought the car on Wednesday and did not know where the nail had been picked up but wanted to know what we should do. After he went to speak to the Service Manger he returned telling me that they were not a tire shop but would be happy to sell me a new tire and that in spite of all of the extended warranties we had purchased a tire warranty for rad hazard was not part of that plan. He also seemed to take an attitude that we were trying to pull something over on the dealer and I had not asked for anything. He also mentioned that the car goes through a thorough inspection and there was no way that it left with the tire problem. We have sense found some small paint issues and dirty spots in the interior so how good the inspection process is we are not certain of. I also found it odd that a brand new customer to the dealership and the brand was not created by the Service Manager having a problem the day after purchasing a brand new car. I then drove the hour plus back to Newnan and had the local Bridgestone dealer make a tire repair and got the car back on the road. We are very happy with the car itself and would certainly consider buying another in the future. We felt that the service could have been a little better in terms of just telling us that there was not road hazard warranty on the tire instead of asking us to drive from Newnan to Kennesaw. We also felt there should have been perhaps a more flexible response given that we had paid the asking price for the car and purchased additional services and products. Would we purchase another car from a Jim Ellis dealership? The answer is maybe to likely but we would likely view it as a purchase location and not a service location and perhaps given that we are in Newnan the Service team just assumed we would be taking it to Heritage in Union City, but as things worked out that is what we will be doing.
