I purchased my Passat TDI at Jim Ellis and have been getting all my service with them. My usual oil change included oil, Ad-Blue, tire check and rotation, and a run through the car wash. The experience in the past has been Expensive but pleasant because I felt I was getting my money’s worth. I forget his last name but Kevin the service manager answered questions and made sure things were done, but, I have not seen him the last two visits. The oil change before this last was ok, the Ad-Blue was spilled in the trunk and everything on the side of the tank developed white crystals which was very hard to clean. I arrived at the service area and was immediately greeted with a rushed and over worked attitude letting me know it will be longer than usual. I was fine with that because I brought my wife to look at cars. I was offered the 50,000 mile service which included a scan and a pressure check of the cooling system for more-than double of the normal service. I declined and asked him to do the normal oil change and asked him to be careful when filling the Ad-Blue because the crystals are hard to clean. We have been thinking about get a VW or Toyota for her. We walked around with Fred Roberts which was great, he was very knowledgeable. We sat down in the waiting area about a half hour before the car was supposed to be done. After a minute or two we were told our car was done and he will bring the paper work. When he got back he rattled off that he recommends that the cabin air filter, and engine air filter be changed, the cooling system be checked and the computer scanned and then he said the tires rotated. I was wondering why he did not tell me about the air filters before, but when he said the tires where not rotated I had flashbacks of other mechanics wanting to milk clients as much as possible. I asked him why he did not rotate the tires, he said I just wanted the oil changed. I thought ok, miss understanding, no biggie. The cost was the same as before with everything done. I got the keys and walked up to the unwashed car. I opened the Trunk and noticed white crystals already forming around the Ad-Blue area. I Realized it was not a misunderstanding it was a lack of listening. Fred Robert is the only reason I did not put 0 on the review.

This is the third vehicle I have purchased from Jim Ellis dealerships. Each time has been a pleasant experience and I have been very pleased with the cars and the staff at Jim Ellis.

Fred Roberts USN was professional rep that anticipated all questions and responded with business like answers. Knowing the initial dealership offering was not satisfactory rushed to obtain approval for corrective action.

First, there more cars in the show room than I have seen at others dealers. Second, I told them what I was looking for and they surpassed my expectations. There was no going back and forth or haggling negotiations. They handled all the paper work quickly and I drove away in my new Passat that same evening. Clark Stoddard was very knowledgeable and helpful and look forward to working with him when it is time for me to purchase another vehicle.
