We purchased a Golf Alltrack on Saturday. We were told it was an unusually busy day at the dealership and perhaps that coupled with the fact that we have not purchased a new vehicle in several years played into our distaste of the process. We arrived shortly after 12 noon and left the dealership about 45 minutes after close of business, without the car we had just purchased. Brian stayed with us, and I am sure he was tired too and tried to do anything he could to ensure we felt like we were being taken care of. We realized Sunday we didn't have any information on the vehicle purchase including Brian's contact info, we had left it in our new vehicle, so we emailed the General Manager of the dealership on Sunday, with contact info we retrieved off the website. Scott forwarded our email to the New Car Sales Manager who promptly replied on the same day even though the business was closed and we did appreciate the prompt response. Mike followed up the next day to let us know they were taking care of the scratches we had found on the vehicle as we were about to take it home and assured me that a paint specialist was taking care of the problem. He relayed that the scratches had only gone through the clear coat and not through the paint so they were able to wet sand it and had it delivered to our house that evening with a thank you gift, both gestures we greatly appreciated which is why we are rating the experience a 7. Without going into all the details of the day we will think twice before we purchase anything from any dealership again. Jim Ellis service has always exceeded our expectations as prior to the purchase we had bought an almost new VW TDI Jetta Wagen and loved it and that staff who performed our scheduled maintenance. We don't fault the sales person for the disappointment but more the industry as a whole, and the dealership for processes that left us feeling they had been less than transparent. By the time we left we were so exhausted and hungry it was difficult to think. Our expectation was high because the service department encounters we had were above and beyond anything we had ever experienced before. We thought that the sales process would be too and much to our disappointment it was not. One thing we were told and are hopeful it will happen is that they heard us and will be taking one of our suggestions to the team to consider changing one of their processes. The others we were told are part of doing business in this industry and as long as everyone else is playing by those rules they have to too, to stay competitive.
