Working with Mike and Symon was excellent. Both were a pleasure. Jane was more difficult, as she came across a bit negative; making us, in turn, feel less positive. Overall, we felt appreciated by the dealership and we're happy to close on a 2017 Tiguan with Mike and Symon.

For my past two visits, the wifi has been extremely slow. I schedule appointments based on being able to work remotely, and when the wifi is not working, this is extremely challenging. During yesterday's visit, I spoke to the service reception desk about the wifi issues and asked if there was anything to be done, like resetting the box. The two people working the desk told me they didn't have access to the box to do anything about it. When I asked if there was someone they could talk to about it, they instead told me I could go to the Parts department and ask over there. I was very surprised at this answer. I understand not necessarily knowing what to do, but in my years of working customer service, it would have been up to me to find out something on the customer's behalf, not send them somewhere else to inquire. I did end up asking at the Parts department and also received a similar reaction: the not knowing whom to talk to and not necessarily willing to find out the answer. At this point I shared that this was now the second department I was asking, the people at Parts then did offer to call around. I am guessing that the wifi box was reset as service did improve a little bit, but still was very unstable and I mostly had to work offline. I in no way expect that every person who works at Jim Ellis Volkswagen will have the right answer about the wifi situation. But I would expect that they would be willing to make a call to a supervisor or manager to figure out a solution and not send anyone from desk to desk. I am also hoping that the wifi quality can be improved so that I can continue to make appointments without worrying that I'll ultimately have to miss a day of work.
