I was disappointed in this visit although we have enjoyed working with the Kearney staff for a number of years and have generally be satisfied with service. In this case, however, we felt we were victims of a bait and switch. We had a $49 coupon in the mail for a full synthetic oil change which we included with a couple of other service requests. When we picked up the car the cost for the oil change was nearly 3 times the coupon price and the reasoning was that VW's require special oil. Since we can generally get a VW oil change at our dealership for around $90 we found this to be excessive and it was exacerbated by the fact that we were not warned of this when we brought the car in but only became aware of the significant upcharge when we picked the car up. Whether or not we will return to Kearney Garage after this experience is TBD.
